Q. Can we obtain low cost or free Lawyer services for Bankruptcy filing?
A: You can file bankruptcy without a lawyer.
Q. Is it against the law to keep a work of Art & not pay for it? If so, what court would it be if it's within the family?
A: Yes, obtaining "a work of art" and intentionally not paying for it is a crime--called "stealing."
Q. girlfriend says her attorney told her her fathers money can only be given to her man,,, heard that from another woman,
A: You are being scammed.
Q. I earned up to $1000 on an online survey site, but they banned me because my siblings had same home address.
A: Sure; in America anyone can sue anyone else at any time—even without a lawyer in small claims court. Winning the lawsuit is another matter. If you decide to sue you should be prepared to pay the $400 filing fee and then pay another hundred bucks or so for service of process. Finally, if a court of law finds your claims to be frivolous or without factual or legal foundation, you may end up having to pay attorney fees and litigation costs to the person or entity you sued.
Q. I need someone to register my company name in Italy. How can I find someone to do it for free or to be paid later.
A: As you just found out, "registering" your company name in Italy is not as easy as non-lawyers think it should be. IMPO, you will be hard-pressed to find any experienced US lawyer who practices International Law willing to "do it for free" or willing to take a chance on your business ever getting the "letter of intent to distribute your film and 100,000 guarantee" from your contacts in Italy. In fact, this grand plan has the strong smell of an international scam; so rather than searching for free legal assistance, I recommend hiring a lawyer to do a deep background on all of the people you are trying to do business with--before you get taken for a ride.
Q. Hello, Im a motorcycle businessman Im following a brand serial 75153969, Im interested to acquire this brand.
A: Free practical advice offered for the last 41 years to people starting their own small businesses: The main difference between successful small businesses and those that fail within a relatively short period of time is good legal advice. The owners of most successful small businesses understand that retaining a competent experienced business lawyer and paying modest legal fees to advise them--from day one—may end up saving them thousands of dollars later when they must fix unnecessary disasters that could have been avoided. Calling a lawyer who you know--and trust--beats asking strangers for free business advice on Justia. Try it and see.
Q. Can I use the tax treaty between the US and Portugal to pay taxes only in my home country?

Q. Is it true in South Carolina if you pay the property taxes on an estate for 7 years that the property becomes yours?
A: Unless South Carolina is still operating in the dark ages the answer is no. In most modern states payment of property taxes entitles the person paying the taxes to apply for a "tax deed" which becomes a lien on the property. The property cannot be sold unless someone satisfies the tax lien(s). And it is possible for the holder of the tax deed(s) to foreclose on the property, which would then be sold at public auction.
Q. We are under contract to sell our home and my partner just died. Realtor is asking me to sign a quick claim deed what do
A: This important question cannot be answered unless and until a lawyer has an opportunity to review all relevant papers and consider all available options.
