Scam Artist-Takes Retainer and Doesn't Do The Work I hired Blake to represent me in a family case. He seemed great at first. As soon as he got my retainer, he became unresponsive, never filed documents on my behalf, lied about filing the documents (which had a file by date or risk default judgement), never contacted the other attorney, never presented my case to the judge and generally did nothing hired to do. After 2 weeks of no response to my calls, texts and emails, I terminated him and asked for my retainer back...still no response or money. I filed with the state board and they agreed and opened an investigation. Based on the reviews on Avvo...stealing people's money and disappearing/not doing his job for their case is his most common practice.
