Benjamin J. Herbert, a partner with Willis Law in Kalamazoo, Michigan, is committed to helping people understand their rights and plan for their future. Mr. Herbert’s client base includes young professionals, senior citizens, retirees, entrepreneurs and nonprofit organizations, among others. An attorney with diverse talents, his other practice areas include corporate law and water law, protecting the rights of lakefront property owners, resolving water rights disputes and estate litigation. Before joining Willis Law, Mr. Herbert began his career in his own practice in Richland, Michigan. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is licensed to appear before the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan. Mr. Herbert graduated cum laude from Michigan State University and earned his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law. He also holds a certificate in probate and estate planning from the Institute of Continuing Legal Education. He has taught classes in Medicaid planning and asset protection as well as estate planning seminars designed for married couples, single individuals, widows and widowers, and young professionals. Mr. Herbert is dedicated to a variety of causes and pro bono activities in his community. He serves on the boards of directors for both the Alternatives Pregnancy Care Center and of the Christian Legal Aid Agency of Southwest Michigan. He is also a member of the Kalamazoo chapter of Ducks Unlimited, an organization dedicated to wetlands and waterfowl conservation.
