Graduated from U of Georgia in Accounting, and UGA School of Law in 1965, Passed Ga Bar in year before graduation.
Assistant US Attorney MD Ga for 2 years, then Navy JAG Officer for 3 years. Jointed Hunter Maclean Exley & Dunn in 1969 and continuing (2025). Entire career in litigation practice...represented railroads, IBM, Grumman Aircraft, Seaboard Coastline Railroad, numerous insurance carriers in every sort of claim; General Counsel to firm from about 1978 until 2015. Represented various shipping lines, generally in maritime incidents; sued/won in claim by railroad against owner of large bridge (destroyed) traversing Savannah River hit/destroyed by vessel; represented Atlantic Wood Industries in series of cases on issues of coverage under general liability policy for insurance coverage for pollution cleanup matters (numerous cases) all successfully, at time when coverage respecting pollution cleanup insurance coverage was of great import in State and Federal Courts. Some significant bodily injury cases involving very serious injuries. And, just too much to remember.
