Ari and I graduated from the same law school- Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Since our respective graduations, we have both entrenched ourselves in the practice area of employment law. I have encountered Ari as an adversary and also a resource when he has graciously provided invaluable guidance.

Ari and I represented different clients who, quiet naturally, had diametrically opposite interests.

I am able to state that from 2009/2010 to the present, I worked with Ari when: I represented a client adverse to Ari's client; Ari led seminars (continued legal education- where he taught and trained other attorneys) on various subject matter within employment law; I sought guidance (case administration/fine points of legal theory/legal strategy) from Ari on cases which I was handling; and Ari co-chaired the U.S. District Court for Eastern District of Pennsylvania's Volunteer Attorney Panel.
Q. Was this lawyer an effective advocate/counselor and why?
Yes

Ari is an effective advocate because he has extensive depth and breadth of knowledge of the practice of employment law. This knowledge is buttressed by- and equal to his ability to apply this knowledge in any litigation/counseling setting. In my assessment of Ari's advocacy, it's critical to note that he is always prepared. From my observations, I have witnessed his keen familiarity with the federal bench which only makes him a more effective advocate and/or counselor.

Ari keeps abreast of the latest employment case law/opinions. Moreover, aside from being knowledgeable about the current state of the law, as an attendee of continued legal education courses that he has led, he is also familiar with development of employment law and its impact on legal standards as applied to case administration, strategy and trial skills.

Legal Analysis: Excellent

Over the years, Ari has served as a mentor and a valuable resource regarding case strategy and legal analysis. I have always benefited from a conversation where I have discussed cases with Ari, no matter how short. His thorough and complete understanding of employment law, naturally, informs his legal analysis. Again, as fellow employment law attorney, it is easy to recognize someone whose legal acumen is informed by an extraordinary depth and breadth of knowledge; and Ari is such an attorney.

Communication Skills: Excellent

Ari has quite a number of cases before the federal bench which can be readily found on Pacer. In terms of couching a legal issue or presentment, it is not uncommon for me to ask myself, "what would Ari do?/ or how would Ari put it?" Ari's communication/writings/briefs are clear, succinct, informative and persuasive.

Ethics and Professionalism: Excellent

I know Ari to be a person of high integrity and moral character. I have never seen an instance or have been party to a discussion/communication where Ari even flirted with the idea of compromising his integrity. To the contrary, he has always maintained that no case or client is worth his integrity.
