Ms. Mitchell graduated from Florida State University with a major in History and Economics. Upon graduation, Ms. Mitchell was hired by the premier South Florida personal injury law firm of Bogani & Robes, PLLC. Witnessing quality legal service promoting justice, and bettering the lives of their clients, she decided to attend law school at St. Thomas University School of Law.
As a merit scholarship recipient, Ms. Mitchell excelled academically earning placement on the Dean’s List every semester, named Articles Editor of Law Review, and participated in Moot Court as both a competitor and coach. Ms. Mitchell was site coordinator for the Volunteer Income Taxpayer Assistance (VITA) Site and ensured all personal and business tax returns were prepared correctly and according to IRS guidelines. She graduated Cum Laude and with a Graduate Certificate in Taxation.
With the desire to specialize in the legally complex area of Taxation, Ms. Mitchell then attended one of the nation’s most prestigious tax programs at the University of Florida Levin College of Law Graduate Tax Program, where she earned her Masters of Law in Taxation (LL.M), an additional year of post-law school course work that focused specifically on tax related courses and issues, including such topics as estate planning and taxation, international tax, corporate tax, entity formation, and the taxation of gifts.
In 2013 Ms. Mitchell was hired as Tax Clinic Director of Gulfcoast Legal Services. She was responsible for resolving all tax issues for clients in Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee and DeSoto counties.
Ms. Mitchell is licensed to represent individuals and businesses before the Internal Revenue Service, the Internal Revenue Service Office of Appeals and the United States Tax Court.
