Biography

Anita is a partner at Wilson, Lake & Savage, PLLC. She is admitted to practice law in Texas, Colorado, and Georgia and has practiced since 2006.

After 2 decades as a litigator, Anita refocused her practice to assist parents and their children through collaborative law and mediation, which she sees is the best path toward healing and to avoid family and financial destruction. Anita is also a Parenting Coordinator and Facilitator, and she provides consulting services to assist colleagues, their clients, and Courts in Dallas, Collin, Denton, and Tarrant Counties.

Being of mixed ethnicity, Anita is passionate about helping clients honor cultural traditions in their parenting plans, which is often ignored by Courts. Having been divorced and raised a child who learns differently, she is keenly aware of psycho-educational issues affecting kids and parents.

She is the Chair of the State Bar of Texas Collaborative Law Section and the Chair of the Dallas Bar Association’s Collaborative Law Section. She is a certified TBRI Practitioner, which is a trauma-informed intervention for those working with families impacted by trauma such as divorce or the separation of parents.

Anita is Board Certified in Family Law and has been selected as a Texas Super Lawyer every year since 2015, and as a Best Lawyers in America in both Family Law and Collaborative Law since 2018. She is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Colorado Bar Foundation, which recognize attorneys who demonstrate outstanding service and commitment to the legal system. Anita is a member of The College of the State Bar of Texas and a Barrister of the Annette Stewart American Inn of Court.

Anita received her B.A. from the University of Toronto and her law degree from Georgia State University College of Law. During law school, she was a member of her law school’s Dean’s List as well as the National Dean’s List, and was named in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
