Angel L Oliver
I am a North Carolina native who is licensed to practice law in North Carolina. My main practice areas include tax planning and controversy, business law, mortgage and foreclosure relief, and estate planning. My extensive experience working with law firms and interacting with clients for years even before going to law school provides me with a comprehensive perspective I use to my clients’ benefit. I attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in International Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. I earned my law degree from the Charleston School of Law where I was an editorial board member of the Federal Courts Law Review. I published an article entitled “Fair Trial for Terrorist Suspects: Federal Court or Military Commission?” in the same journal. I also received a Pro Bono Award for working 275 Pro Bono hours during law school. Most recently, I earned an LL.M. in Tax Law from the Boston University School of Law. Of professional interest to me is how the changing and varied laws impact non-traditional relationships. Estate planning, probate, tax, and even business matters can be and are impacted by how the law treats non-married and same-sex couples. In my free time I play on a recreational soccer team and spend time hiking and swimming with my very active Labrador retrievers.
