Andrew Hideki Iwata

Malpractice, horrible experience! My experience with Andrew Hideki Iwata was deeply disappointing and harmful to my custody modification case. As my attorney, he failed to provide competent and diligent representation, resulting in irreparable damage during a critical time in my life. Mr. Iwata drafted a proposed court order that directly contradicted the judge’s ruling, an error that opposing counsel identified and documented in writing. Rather than addressing this mistake, Mr. Iwata chose to withdraw from my case shortly after. His justification for withdrawal was inconsistent: he claimed nonpayment in court, yet in emails to me, he alleged “disrespect” and “withholding information,” both of which are false. I have documented proof that I provided all relevant information to his paralegal, and no concerns about “disrespect” were raised until after opposing counsel called out his malpractice. Additionally, when I formally objected to his withdrawal and requested that he file my objection with the court, Mr. Iwata assured me he would. However, he failed to do so, allowing his withdrawal to proceed by default and leaving me unrepresented. This neglect of his responsibilities caused significant delays, legal confusion, and harm to my custody arrangement. As a 100% service-connected disabled veteran, I relied on Mr. Iwata to handle my case with professionalism and care. Instead, I was abandoned during one of the most vulnerable times in my life. I would strongly caution anyone seeking legal representation to avoid Andrew Hideki Iwata. My experience has been nothing short of a betrayal of trust.
