I work to help you through your life transitions. I was graduated from UMKC Law School with honors in 2009. I was awarded the John R. Specca award for excellence in the study of family law. I am honored to have been a member of the Family Law Moot Court Team and a staff member on the Journal of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. I first began my practice by clerking for the Hon. Commissioner Sherrill Rosen in Independence, MO. This gave me a broad and firm foundation in litigation in the area of Family Law. When my clerkship ended I was privileged to practice at a boutique probate firm in the Liberty area where I learned from some of the most experienced and best known probate attorneys in the area. I was saddened when the lawyers there all retired and the firm closed, however I recognize that because of my experience at that firm I have a robust knowledge of the probate laws. Subsequently I opened my own firm, Showalter Law.
As an attorney who has been through the divorce process herself, I fully understand how emotionally challenging family law matters can be. I work hard to empower you in your time of need by fighting for your family with dignity and compassion. I value direct communication and will ensure you are always able to communicate with me. I also always provide you with candid legal advice and innovative advocacy in any type of family law or probate matter.
