- Q. My court order says that my visitation day for me to see my daughter is every thursday beginning the school period.
- A: In Texas, court orders may have standard possession language or custom language. Keep in mind that the standard possession schedule applies to children aged 3 years or older. For children younger than 3 years of age, a court order could have something different. If your court order uses the standard possession language, then there should be a provision that says you should follow the school calendar. A quick online search (https://www.houstonisd.org/reopening) shows that Houston ISD officially starts on September 8th, a Tuesday . That means that your first Thursday visitation would begin on September 10th.
