Biography

Adam’s practice is concentrated in wills, trusts, estate planning, sophisticated tax planning and generation-skipping transfer planning for high net-worth families, as well as elder law planning. Adam also advises fiduciaries in administering estates and trusts, including the preparation of estate and gift tax returns. Further, he represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries in estate and trust litigation in the Surrogate’s Court. Finally, he represents taxpayers who need a tax lawyer, either for tax consulting or to assist with tax disputes of many different aspects with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and New York State (NYS). ? In addition to being an attorney admitted to practice in New York, Adam is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Prior to opening this law office, Adam practiced law in the Trusts and Estates Departments at two of the most substantial law firms on Long Island. In addition, he was a Manager in the Trust and Estate Practice Group at Marcum LLP, where he devoted substantially all of his time to estate, gift and income tax planning and estate and trust administration for high net worth clients. Adam is a frequently-requested speaker and author. He has also been an adjunct Tax Professor for the Graduate Tax Program at Long Island University/C.W. Post Campus and former Co-Chairman of the Estate and Personal Financial Planning Committee for the Nassau Chapter, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants ("NYSSCPA"). He is also a member of the Tax Section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants ("AICPA"), the Estate Planning and Administration of Estates and Trusts Committees of the NYSSCPA, the Trusts & Estates Law, Elder Law and Tax Law Sections of the New York State Bar Association ("NYSBA"), the Surrogate’s Court Estates & Trusts and Taxation Committees of the Nassau County Bar Association. Adam is the Secretary and a Director of The Claire Friedlander Family Foundation.
