Ms. Walters serves on the Board of Directors for the United Inventors Association, a nonprofit organization with over 10,000 innovative members and on the Board of Directors for several nonprofits working with rising entertainers and artists. Prior to establishing an active intellectual property practice, Bambi Faivre Walters was a product liability associate with McGlinchey Stafford in New Orleans, Louisiana and extensively worked with electrical and mechanical engineers at Ford Motor Company, Toyota Motor Corporation, DaimlerChrysler Corporation, Caterpillar Incorporated, and Bovie electrocautery manufacturers and suppliers. From 1988-1992, Ms. Walters was an engineer with the United States Naval Sea Support Services for the Atlantic Fleet (NAVSEACENLANT) and provided engineering and maintenance support for Atlantic fleet ships including support for LM2500 engines, motor controllers, aircraft and weapons elevators, and various radar systems.

Bambi Faivre Walters received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Tulane in 1997 and her B.S. in Systems Engineering with a minor in Environmental and Water Resource Systems from the University of Virginia in 1992. She is a Virginia licensed general contractor with added certifications in environmental and energy efficiency specialties.

Dan Miller was raised in Chesapeake, Virginia. He graduated from Norfolk Collegiate School in 1985, and graduated from Oxford College in 1987 with an Associate of Arts degree. Dan went on to graduate from Emory University in Atlanta in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Philosophy and Sociology. From 1989 to 1995 Dan played drums in a band based in Atlanta Georgia where he toured the College Circuit throughout the Southeastern United States. In 1997 Dan attended Thomas Cooley Law School in Lansing Michigan. Dan graduated a semester early and was admitted to practice law in Virginia in November 1998.

In 1998, Dan was hired by Michael I. Ashe where he laid his foundation focusing on Criminal and Traffic cases. Dan is an active member of the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia Trial Lawyers, the Norfolk/Portsmouth Bar Association, the Virginia Beach Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and is licensed to practice in all state and Federal Courts in Virginia. In 2001, Dan founded Dan Miller and Associates. He currently resides in Virginia Beach with his wife Amy, daughter Hayden, and son Max.

Dominic P. Lascara is a native of Portsmouth, Virginia. He graduated in 1986 from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary after receiving his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, in Business Administration in 1981 from Old Dominion University.

A native of Portsmouth, Virginia, James Short graduated, cum laude, from the University of Richmond in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He received his law degree in 1986 from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary. After graduating, Mr. Short was admitted to the Virginia State Bar. He started his career as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Portsmouth and held that position for four years. He has been in private practice since 1991.

Mr. Short is admitted to practice before the U. S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia and is a member of the American Bar Association. Mr. Short has also been very active in the Chesapeake Bar Association where he served as President in 2007. His most recent professional goal was realized on October 14, 2008 when he was admitted to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Short was sworn-in to practice before the Court by Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr.

Mr. Short is very involved in the community. He is currently chairman of the Chesapeake Law Library Board. He previously held the position of Chairman of the Chesapeake Regional Local Human Rights Committee for three years. He is also past president of the Portsmouth Optimist Club and a former board member of Girls Incorporated. Mr. Short is very active in youth sports and enjoys coaching his sonâs baseball and basketball teams.

Mr. Short lives in the Western Branch area of Chesapeake, Virginia with his wife and two children. He enjoys golf, loves to read and is an avid fly fisherman. Mr. Short has been practicing law for over 20 years. His firm, James E. Short, PLC, is located in the Greenbrier section of Chesapeake. Mr. Short practices primarily in the areas of criminal law, DUI defense, family law and social security disability.
