Mr. Norrick was raised in Eureka, Missouri,graduated from Eureka High School in 1975,attended Columbia College, Columbia, Missouri where he majored in history and government, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979.

Mr. Norrick then attended and graduated from the University of Missouri - Columbia School of Law in 1982, the same year he was admitted to the Missouri Bar Association. While a law student Mr. Norrick was a member of the editorial staff of the Missouri Law Review in 1980-82. Mr. Norrick was a member of the Order of the Coif, which is restricted to the upper 10% of a graduating class.

Mr. Norrick joined the Thurman Law Firm in 1982 as an associate and became a partner in 1987. While a member of this firm he has represented numerous clients with respect to their legal matters, including matters concerning real estate and land law, business and corporate law, contracts, wills, trusts, estate planning, probate law, personal injury law, workers compensation law, social security disability law, domestic law and juvenile law. He has and continues to represent various real estate developers, contractors, subdivision property owner associations, public water, sanitary sewer and fire districts, and individuals and companies organizing business entities and selling or buying businesses and business assets. He also represents owners of rental property, residential and commercial, including mobile home parks, apartment complexes, houses, store front buildings, strip centers and malls.

In addition to all Missouri Circuit and Appellate Courts, Mr. Norrick is licensed to practice in the United States District Court and United States Bankruptcy Court of the Eastern District of Missouri, the United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Mr. Norrick was married in 1981. His wife, Jan, attended Columbia College and majored in social work. She graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in 1981. They have three children who have graduated high school, are attending or have graduated college. The Norricks reside in Festus, Missouri.

As an Estate Planning and Elder Law Attorney, I provide comprehensive legal counsel and practical advice regarding your estate planning, as well as the documents that are necessary to protect you and your loved ones. These documents can include Wills, Trusts, Supplemental Needs/Special Needs Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Living Wills (end-of-life wishes), Beneficiary Deeds, Beneficiary Designations, as well as other documents. Although probate often can be avoided, I also handle probate matters when it is necessary for an estate to go through probate.

My experiences helping to care for my mother during her 16 years of decline due to Alzheimer's disease, dealing with my father's last illness and death, and handling financial and legal matters for my mother after my father died, provide me with personal, as well as practical, insights and perspectives that I bring to my Estate Planning and Elder Law practice.

My other areas of practice include Adoptions, Name Changes, Real Estate, and Security Clearance Appeals, as well as other matters on a case-by-case.

My law firm provides individualized friendly service, with attention to detail. Each client is a person, not a case. Telephone calls usually are returned by my paralegal or by me the same day, but no later than the next business day. Free notary services are provided for established clients. My office is wheelchair-accessible.

I have been a consistent advocate throughout my career for civil rights, civil liberties, and justice for all. I have over a quarter-century of experience as an attorney representing lesbian, gay, and transgender persons, and advocating for LGBT rights.

I graduated cum laude from St. Louis University Law School (1974), and from Swarthmore College with Honors (1970). I founded my law firm in 1987, after six years as an attorney in Legal Services, and six years in a private practice partnership.

The firm's paralegal, Linda J. Lewis, has been employed by the firm since 1995. She has an Associates Degree in Applied Science - Legal Assistant (St. Louis Community College, 1994), and a B.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice (University of Missouri-St. Louis, 1994).
