About this Organization:
The Cyberlaw Clinic provides legal representation to private litigants and other clients in matters involving the public interest and technological development. The Cyberlaw Clinic gives students an opportunity to participate in supervised litigation, policy and legislative advocacy in matters involving technology and the public interest. Through the Clinic, students will develop and hone skills in interviewing and counseling, fact investigation, issue identification, case theory, development, planning and organization, discovery and motions practice, ethics, negotiation and oral advocacy. Bar Certified law students work directly with clients, file legal motions and briefs and argue matters in court. The Environmental Law Clinic at Stanford offers students an opportunity to provide legal assistance to nonprofit organizations on a variety of environmental issues, focusing primarily on natural resource conservation. The clinic's clients include large national environmental organizations such as The Ocean Conservancy, the Sierra Club, and National Parks Conservation Association), as well as a variety of regional and local grassroots groups (such as the Center for Biological Diversity, WaterKeepers Northern California, Environmental Protection Information Center, and Turtle Island Restoration Network). The Immigrants' Rights Clinic (IRC) at Stanford Law School is committed to protecting the human rights of all non-citizens, regardless of immigration status. Professor Jayashri Srikantiah and Teaching Fellow Kathleen Kim supervise students on direct services and legal advocacy projects. Students in the clinic represent individual immigrants in a variety of settings. For example, students have worked on: seeking humanitarian relief from deportation on behalf of non-citizens with criminal convictions, obtaining asylum protection for non-citizens fleeing persecution, and assisting immigrant survivors of domestic violence in gaining lawful status in the United States.

Eric Sternberger is a partner of Ragghianti Freitas LLP. Mr. Sternberger acts as outside general counsel to corporations, LLC's and partnerships with an emphasis on business and corporate transactions including entity selection, succession planning, joint ventures, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, buy-sell agreements, secured financing, licensing, and real estate matters. Mr. Sternberger's client representation has extended from the United States to Europe, and South America. Such international representation has ranged from advising and forming foreign corporations, developing international marketing strategies and intellectual property protection. One of the more unique facets of his international work is the development and coordination of litigation strategies for lawsuits proceeding in other nations.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Sternberger has made a point to volunteer and provide pro bono legal services. He served as a Marin County Commissioner, acting as Chair of the Adult Criminal Justice Commission advising the Marin County Board of Supervisors on all aspects of criminal justice prosecution and prevention.

Mr. Sternberger is presently the Chair of the California State Bar Committee on Partnerships and Limited Liability Companies (2007-2008); serves on the Board of Directors of the Marin County Bar Association (2005-2008); and the incoming President of the Richard M. Sangster American Inn of Court (2008-2009)

About Mr. Aly Ebrahimzadeh, Esq.:

A former successful Governor's Teaching Fellow public school teacher, college teacher and organic farm-worker, Mr. Aly Ebrahimzadeh, Esq. is a dynamic public interest attorney possessing very successful years of experience working with Plaintiff-side and Non-Profit law firms in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Communities for a Better Environment, Earthjustice, and Education Not Incarceration. In both state and federal courts, Mr. Ebrahimzadeh has worked successfully with colleagues on multi-million dollar cases representing both Plaintiffs and Defendants, high stakes criminal actions, class action lawsuits, complex multiparty actions, very high-conflict divorces, and on social impact litigation and anti-legislation efforts in the public's interest. Further, Mr. Ebrahimzadeh serves as the General Counsel for MaPhone, LLC, a mobile phone software company employing groundbreaking technology in GPS navigation systems and mobile telephony. Mr. Ebrahimzadeh is the Founder and President of Ethos Pathos Logos, a Pro Bono Organization of Concerned Citizens motivating and informing the public on how to become Earth and People Friendly.

A bit about Aly, personally: He speaks fluent French, Spanish, Italian, and Farsi, as well as basic German. He has traveled and worked extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East, the Caribbean, and North America. He is a musician, a dancer, a writer, and a visual artist. He enjoys motorcycle travels, slow food, music from bluegrass to folk, jazz to classical, rough playing with his two white German Shepherds, and coaching youth sports. More than anything else, he loves walking in local flower gardens and having quiet picnics with his son.

Our managing attorney Michael L. Mau, Esq. has gained extensive experience as a trial lawyer and advocate for our clients. Initially he worked and gained a wide variety of experience as an Independent Contract Attorney. He then practiced for five plus years with Simpson, Aherne & Garrity, P.C., a construction law firm with offices in San Mateo and San Francisco. After a shorter stint at McLemore, Collins & Toschi, LLP, an insurance defense firm with offices in Oakland and Santa Rosa, he opened The Mau Law Firm in 1999.
