The Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County is one of California’s premier legal aid programs. Founded in 1959, Legal Aid is an independent non-profit that provides free civil legal services to low-income children, families and seniors in San Mateo County.Provides assistance in the areas of public benefits, family law, housing, consumer law and health care.

For thirty years, Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach (API Legal Outreach) has worked to tear down long-standing barriers that have denied Asians and Pacific Islanders equal justice and equal access to our legal system. By working closely with our clients and community groups, we can respond to our community’s most pressing needs, both immediate and long-term. At the same time, we have been educators, lawyers, advocates, teachers—working to instill in the API community a sense of its legal rights and community responsibilities.

The AIDS Legal Referral Panel (ALRP) is a non profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to help people living with HIV/AIDS maintain or improve their health by resolving their legal issues.

Every year the Volunteer Legal Services Program (VLSP) serves thousands of people in desperate need of legal help. We've provided this help with the assistance of volunteers throughout the Bay Area for nearly 30 years. Our award-winning program changes lives by using a holistic approach that offers social services as well as legal assistance.

California Lawyers for the Arts is a non-profit service organization which provides lawyer referrals, dispute resolution services, educational programs, publications and a resource library to people in the creative arts and arts organizations. Founded in 1974 by lawyers and artists, C.L.A.'s programs and services are designed to help artists understand and apply legal concepts.

The Alameda County Bar Association's Volunteer Legal Services Corporation (VLSC) provides free legal assistance to low-income residents in Alameda County with certain non-criminal legal issues. Volunteer attorneys provide all the legal work on a pro bono basis.
