Dana Robinson is a founding partner of TechLaw, LLP, where his practice focuses on trademark prosecution, trademark licensing, copyrights, and business transactions. Previously, Dana managed the trademark practice at the Las Vegas intellectual property firm Quirk & Tratos (now Greenberg Traurig). Dana has served as general counsel to three companies, including, most recently, L1 Technologies, Inc. which operates the iGolf.com website and golf GPS data service.

Dana is adjunct professor of law at the University of San Diego School of law.

Dana’s expertise is in trademark law, and legal issues related to the Internet, software, and technology. He also has extensive experience with resort and casino trademarks, but he has prosecuted hundreds of trademarks in the United States Patent and Trademark Office over the course of his law practice career. Dana has represented clients in numerous trademark infringement actions, as well as cancellations, oppositions and appeals before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Dana has worked on domain name disputes, beginning with complex multi-party cybersquatting actions prior to the adoption of the ACPA. Imran Vakil handles a wide variety of intellectual property and corporate matters. He regularly advises clients on their rights related to the protection, management, and associated licensing of brand names, packaging designs, literary works, paintings and drawings, audio-visual media, software, confidential and proprietary business information, and inventions. Imran’s litigation practice is focused on resolving disputes over patents, trademark and trade dress, copyright, trade secrets, unfair competition, and related business torts. Imran uses his decade+ of international business and engineering experience to advise clients on such matters as the creation of start-up companies, multi-national expansion, pitfalls in global sourcing, intellectual property valuations, and strategic alliances. David J. Tsai is an associate in Perkins Coie's San Francisco office and a member of the Litigation Practice Group. Mr. Tsai's practice focuses on trade secret and patent litigation, with an emphasis on pharmaceuticals (Hatch-Waxman Act/ANDA), biotechnologies, the Internet, software, semiconductors, and medical devices. His legal experience also includes litigating in the areas of copyrights and trademarks, preparing and prosecuting U.S. electrical engineering patent applications, drafting patentability, freedom-to-operate and non-infringement opinions, as well as dealing with patent interference in the area of biotechnology. Mr. Tsai has written on Hatch-Waxman related issues and Internet software applications.

During law school, Mr. Tsai served as an extern to the Honorable Howard R. Lloyd of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and a law clerk for the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley (AIDS Legal Services).

Prior to his legal career, Mr. Tsai worked in product management at Internet/software startups Zaplet, Inc., and TimeDance.com funded by Kleiner Perkins and the Mayfield Fund, respectively. He focused on developing platforms for collaborative communications.

Mr. Tsai also previously led the U.S. product management team for Corbett's Rotor-Gene (real-time PCR) product line. In addition, he has authored numerous articles for scientific publications (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, The Journal of Comparative Neurology, Experimental Neurology, and Society of Neuroscience Abstracts) related to his undergraduate honors thesis and graduate research at Harvard Medical School and Stanford on stem cell and viral gene therapy tools for the treatment of
neurological diseases and cancer.

Mr. Tsai currently serves on the Board of Directors of the BASF and SVIPLA and was named Barrister of the Year by the Santa Clara County Bar Association in 2010 and a "Rising Star" in IP litigation by Super Lawyers in 2009 and 2010.

Mr. Tsai is committed to serving pro bono clients on behalf of the firm. He is the recipient of the Minority Bar Coalition's Rising Star Award and the ABA Section of Litigation's Outstanding Subcommittee Chair Award.

Mr. Tsai is fluent in spoken Taiwanese and Chinese Mandarin and a member of Perkins' Taiwan Practice Group.

Prior to opening his own practice, Raz Messerian was an associate attorney at one of the nation's largest intellectual property law firms. As a registered Patent Attorney he has prosecuted numerous patents across a wide range of technologies before the United States Patent & Trademark Office. Mr. Messerian has worked with clients of various sizes: from Fortune 500 companies to solo inventors.

Raz Messerian received his M.S. and B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from UCLA. Mr. Messerian's strong technical background and proclivity for the sciences serves as an invaluable tool in aiding him understand the nature and inner-workings of his clients' inventions. This understanding promotes efficiency during the patent prosecution process, and also leads to a stronger attorney-client relationship. Mr. Messerian obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola Law School Los Angeles, graduating in the top 15% of his class. Raz was born and raised in Southern California where he now resides and practices law. He enjoys reading, swimming, and spending time with his family and friends.
