Judy is an appellate specialist with 18 years of experience in the Oregon appellate courts. Her career began as clerk for Hon. William Richardson, then Chief Judge of the Oregon Court of Appeals. Judy is the senior partner at a boutique appellate firm in Eugene, Oregon. She is also the chair of the Appellate Section of the Oregon State Bar.

I have been practicing law for over 21 years. I am licensed and on active status in the states of California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. I also represent clients on a national basis by affiliating with attorneys licensed in any given state where I have a client or project located. When I am not working on client matters I give presentations and publish law review articles on subjects of interest to land trusts and attorneys.

Mr. Jackson is a longtime resident of Eugene. His high school alma mater being Churchill. As a teen, Mr. Jackson was introduced to the business of insurance, pitching in at his father’s agency – Rick Jackson Insurance.

From the University of Oregon, Mr. Jackson earned his Bachelor of Arts in History, with special emphasis on American History and African History. Additionally, a minor was earned in Computer Information Technology. An undergraduate class offered by the legendary Professor Jim Klonski provided Mr. Jackson the opportunity to participate in a Supreme Court simulation; the exposure proved to be pivotal for future career decisions.

Continuing with the University of Oregon, Mr. Jackson moved directly into the Law School. In addition to the academic rigors of the program, he volunteered as an intern for the Lane County Circuit Court, and worked for the insurance defense firm Kurtz, Ford, and Johnson.

Mr. Jackson earned his Doctorate of Jurisprudence (JD), passed the state bar exam, and then accepted a position as Law Clerk for Judge Charles Carlson, of the Lane County Circuit Court.

Within a year, Mr. Jackson was offered a position as an associate attorney with the prestigious firm, Frohnmayer, Deatherage, Jamieson, Moore, Armosino & McGovern – one of the most respected and oldest law firms in Oregon. There, he gained invaluable experience as an insurance defense attorney. In addition, Mr. Jackson worked on domestic, corporate, and criminal cases.

Missing the closeness of their extended families, Mr. Jackson and his wife made the decision to return to Eugene. In January of 2008, Mr. Jackson founded Jackson Law Office, LLC. The mission of his firm would remain simple: Help everyday people navigate the minefield of personal injury claims. While Mr. Jackson’s primary caseload involves injury claims and lawsuits, he also helps clients with insurance claim denials and property claims.

Wanting to contribute to his community, Mr. Jackson co-founded the Lane County Diabetes Coalition. The entities goal is to empower local sufferers of Type 2 Diabetes with their fight against this debilitating disease.

Outside the office and courtroom, Mr. Jackson is a devoted family man – happily married to his high school sweetheart, and the proud father of four children – Nora, Jonah, Clara, and Sarah. Hobbies include motorcycle riding, city league soccer for adults, and coaching his childrens’ sports teams.

Jacy, the firm's managing partner, grew up on a north-central Missouri farm and received her Bachelor of Arts in political science from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, where she graduated magna cum laude. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Oregon School of Law.

Presently she is serving on the board of directors for the Lane County Bar Association and is the former chair of the Family Law and Program committees. In her free time, Jacy enjoys gardening, canning, beekeeping, crabbing at the Oregon Coast, whitewater rafting, and other outdoor activities.
