Harrison A. Lord is an attorney with the law firm of James, McElroy & Diehl. His practice focuses on all aspects of litigation, particularly trial work. He has a wide range of experience in a number of fields, including but not limited to disputes involving contracts, partnership disputes and derivative actions, misappropriation of funds, malpractice, and torts. Harrison also assists clients in pursuing payment of debts and past-due invoices, including pre-litigation negotiations, filing and prosecution of lawsuits, and assisting with post-judgment collections and remedies.

Before joining James, McElroy & Diehl, Harrison served a two-year clerkship to the Honorable Richard A. Elmore of the North Carolina Court of Appeals. He is active in the North Carolina Bar Association, in which he was a member of the Charter Class of the North Carolina Bar Association Leadership Academy and the recipient of the 2010-2011 Charles F. Blanchard Outstanding Young Lawyer Award. Harrison currently serves as a member of the Strategic Planning and Emerging Trends Committee of the Bar Association and as a Division Director of the Young Lawyers Division.

Harrison grew up in Harnett County, North Carolina, before attending high school at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham. He received his A.B. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he double majored in Classics and History. While in college, Harrison twice earned the Monogram Award as a member of the varsity fencing team, and was listed three times on the ACC Academic Honor Roll.

Harrison attended Washington University School of Law, where he received a Scholars in Law merit based scholarship and served as Associate Editor for the Washington University Journal of Law and Policy. At graduation, Harrison was awarded the Judge John W. Calhoun Trial Practice Award in recognition of his talent for and dedication to trial work.
