PAIR is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing hope and a new beginning to asylum-seekers and torture survivors and immigrants unjustly detained. Founded in 1989, PAIR is the core provider of pro bono legal services to low-income asylum-seekers in Massachusetts and has over a 90% success rate. PAIR works to accomplish this mission by representing low-income asylum-seekers through pro bono attorneys, whom PAIR recruits, trains and mentors, and by providing Know Your Rights presentations and representation to non-citizens in immigration detention in Massachusetts.

Catholic Charities agencies throughout the United States are responding to the needs of victims of violence and human trafficking. RIS received a multi-year federal grant that has enabled us to establish a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Unit within our Immigration Legal Services program. This unit is able to serve immigrant victims of domestic violence through a holistic approach that provides legal immigration services, safety planning, emergency shelter, counseling, crisis intervention, and access to public benefits. Immigration legal service professionals along with project partners provided services to over 200 victims of violence throughout 2005.

The Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts of Massachusetts, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization established to meet the legal needs of the state's artistic community. Since its inception, the VLA has expanded its services to include legal services for artists and arts organizations as well as educational opportunities for artists, arts organizations and attorneys. VLA also assists local art and cultural institutions in finding attorneys to sit on their respective boards of directors who embrace the mission of the individual organization.
