Edmundo Cuevas is an associate attorney at Robert J Semrad & Associates. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Cuevas worked for the City of Chicago's Law Department, where he prosecuted violations of the City Municipal Code on behalf of the City.
Mr. Cuevas graduated from DePaul University College of Law, where he participated in the misdemeanor clinic. In the misdemeanor clinic, Mr. Cuevas successfully defended his client at trial. Mr. Cuevas was also a Co-Chair of the National Latino Law Student Association Conference hosted in Chicago.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Cuevas studied finance and accounting at the Universidade de SÃo Paulo, Brazil. Mr. Cuevas received a Bachelors of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Mr. Cuevas is currently an active member of the Hispanic Lawyer's Association of Illinois and of the Hispanic National Bar Association. In addition, Mr. Cuevas is part of the Associate Board of Latinos Progresando.

Kristi Smith joined Robert J. Semrad & Associates in March 2010 and since that time, has worked as an associate in the Atlanta office on both Chapter 13 and Chapter 7 cases. Currently, she handles all Chapter 13 matters before the Honorable Mary Grace Diehl. Prior to joining the firm, she served as an intern with the United States Trustee Program. Ms. Smith received her J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law in May 2009. While in law school, she was elected and served as Student Representative to the American Bar Association and was also a member of the Christian Legal Society. She received the CALI Award for Excellence in Securities Regulation and was a member of the National Scholars Honor Society. In May 2006, Ms. Smith graduated magna cum laude from Georgia Southern University where she received her B.B.A. in Accounting. While at Georgia Southern, she served as Vice President of Beta Gamma Sigma, was selected University Public Speaking Champion, and received both the Excellent Student Scholarship and Academic Achievement Award. In her free time, Ms. Smith enjoys playing golf, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Aaron Weinberg is an associate attorney for the Firm's Chicago office. Mr. Weinberg is a member of the both the Firm's bankruptcy and litigation departments. Mr. Weinberg currently handles all of the Firm's Chapter 13 matters assigned before the Honorable Judge Wedoff.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Weinberg graduated from the John Marshall Law School. Prior to and while in Law School Mr. Weinberg worked as a project assistant for Kirkland and Ellis, LLP.

Prior to attending John Marshall Law School. Mr. Weinberg attained a bachelor's degree with a focus in History and a minor in biology from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. Mr. Weinberg was born in Chicago and raised in Northwest Indiana.

Mr. Black is a Managing Partner and currently overseeing the Georgia locations . He joined the firm in 2002 and has represented thousands of clients in both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Cases. Mr. Black obtained his Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University and his Bachelor of Science from Columbia College.

Mike Miller is an attorney for the firm’s office in Aurora. Mr. Miller joined Robert J. Semrad and Associates in 2004 as a law clerk, and then became an Associate Attorney in 2006.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Miller graduated with Honors from Roosevelt University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Management, in 2001.

Mr. Miller then went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from The John Marshall Law School in 2005. While in law school, Mr. Miller was an extern with the United States Department of Justice’s Office. In addition, Mr. Miller also was an extern at the Greater Southwest Development Predatory Lending Clinic, helping consumers against predatory lending practices.

Mr. Miller is currently a member and volunteer in the Chicago CARE program which provides educational seminars to students for the responsible use of credit. Mr. Miller was born and raised in Illinois.

Janna Quarless joined Robert J. Semrad & Associates in 2007 and is an associate in the Chicago office. She is a member of the bankruptcy department and currently heads the Chapter 7 Department where she represents clients in a variety of Chapter 7 matters including appearing before judges in the State and Federal levels, negotiating settlements with the Office of the United States Trustee, creditors, and Chapter 7 Interim Trustees.

Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Quarless graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2007. While attending law school, she worked with the Michigan House of Representatives and interned with the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association working with lobbyists on variety of matters. Ms. Quarless received a Bachelor of Art in History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2003.

Marisa Leeds joined Robert J. Semrad & Associates in August of 2008 and is an associate in the Atlanta office. Ms. Leeds has been practicing bankruptcy law since joining the firm. Previously Ms. Leeds spent two years as a court attorney, handling all the various matters involved with Chapter 13 bankruptcies and representing clients in court in defense of their Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases and plans. She currently primarily meets with new clients for consultations and supervises the attorneys and paralegals who file cases for new clients. Ms. Leeds received a J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law in May 2008. Jordan Van Matre joined Robert J. Semrad & Associates, LLC in 2010 and is an associate in the Atlanta Office. Mr. Van Matre has been practicing law since October 2010. He currently serves as a "Building" attorney, whose primary objective is preparing petitions for clients filing for relief under Chapters 7 and 13 of Title 11 of the United States Code. Mr. Van Matre received a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Liberty University School of Law in May 2010. While in law school, Mr. Van Matre won numerous awards and recognitions for his achievements in interscholastic competitions, including "Best Oralist" in the Regent University Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition, "First Place" in the ABA Regional Negotiations Competition, and the "ADR Award for Outstanding achievement in Alternative Dispute Resolution." He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Mobile where he earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Humanities, and also served two terms as the University's SGA Vice-President. Timothy P. Martin, a resident of DuPage County, is a Partner with the LAW OFFICES OF MARTIN & KENT, LLC. Mr. Martin received his Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall Law School, Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Martin is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, DuPage County Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, Kane County Bar Association, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys Association. He has served on the campaign committee staff in both campaigns for Attorney General Jim Ryan in 1994 and 1998. Mr. Martin has also served in local and statewide politics. Mr. Covey concentrates his practice in all chapters of bankruptcy and bankruptcy-related law with special emphasis in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. Mr. Covey has concentrated his practice in consumer and business bankruptcy matters for the past fourteen years.

Mr. Covey graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1984 with a B.S in Journalism. He then earned his J.D. at Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1992.

Prior to law school I worked as a child advocate for abused and neglected children in Addison Illinois (1996-2000). From 1995-1996 I worked with the elderly population in an in-patient Alzheimer's/Dementia facility in Arlington Heights.

I have been a licensed attorney in the State of Illinois since 2003. I began my legal career as a an Assistant State's Attorney in the County of Kendall, State of Illinois. In 2007 I opened my private practice and have successfully represented hundreds of clients in matters ranging from criminal defense to various family law issues, including divorce.

I have a unique perspective in criminal defense from my experience in criminal prosecution. I believe that in order to successfully represent client's in criminal and family law matters one must know what the available options are, have a very thorough knowledge of the applicable law and be thoroughly prepared.

Mark D. Manetti has been a partner in the law firm of Manetti & Griffith, Ltd. since 1986. His practice is focused in commercial litigation and real estate law. His commercial litigation practice involves business breakups, injunctions, contract interpretation and probate disputes. Mr. Manetti's real estate litigation practice involves title defense for major title insurers, mechanic's lien prosecution and defense, and construction disputes.

Mr. Manetti received his J.D. Degree from DePaul University in 1973. He has frequently participated as a lecturer at various Chicago Bar Association, DuPage County Bar Association, Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE) and Illinois Land Title Association programs on real estate litigation.

Mr. Manetti is also a contributor to the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE) publications including Illinois Mechanics' Liens, Financing Real Estate Transactions, and Effective Handling of Residential Real Estate Transactions.

Laura Childs has practiced law for 14 years. She is our senior Workers' Compensation attorney, focusing her practice on Workers' Compensation claims and appeals as well as plaintiffs' Personal Injury cases.

Ms. Childs aggressively negotiates with insurance companies and litigates Workers' Compensation and Personal Injury claims to help clients recover financial compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering resulting from accidents. A signification portion of her practice is devoted to helping clients with work-related injuries when benefits are denied or disputes arise about the nature and extent of injuries.
