Edmundo Cuevas is an associate attorney at Robert J Semrad & Associates. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Cuevas worked for the City of Chicago's Law Department, where he prosecuted violations of the City Municipal Code on behalf of the City.
Mr. Cuevas graduated from DePaul University College of Law, where he participated in the misdemeanor clinic. In the misdemeanor clinic, Mr. Cuevas successfully defended his client at trial. Mr. Cuevas was also a Co-Chair of the National Latino Law Student Association Conference hosted in Chicago.

Marcie Venturini joined Robert J. Semrad & Associates in 2002. She is a senior associate and a member of the bankruptcy department. Ms. Venturini’s primary practice is to advise and represent Debtors in Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcy cases. Ms. Venturini has assisted and advised thousands of clients with solutions to their immediate and long term financial situations.

Winn Keathley joined Robert J. Semrad & Associates in 2010 and is an associate in the Atlanta office. Jessica L. Casto joined Robert J. Semrad & Associates, LLC in 2008 and is an associate in the Atlanta Office. Ms. Casto has been practicing bankruptcy law since 2008. She currently primarily supports Robert J. Semrad's Chapter 7 Bankruptcy division. Ms. Casto received a J.D. from Mercer University School of Law in May 2008. She received her undergraduate degree from the Kennesaw State University where she earned a B.S. in Political Science. Ms. Casto enjoys camping, traveling, and flying small aircrafts. She is also an avid hockey fan.

Kristi Smith joined Robert J. Semrad & Associates in March 2010 and since that time, has worked as an associate in the Atlanta office on both Chapter 13 and Chapter 7 cases. Currently, she handles all Chapter 13 matters before the Honorable Mary Grace Diehl. Prior to joining the firm, she served as an intern with the United States Trustee Program. Ms. Smith received her J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law in May 2009. Lynn Chen joined Robert J. Semrad & Associates in 2011, and is an associate in the Duluth, Georgia office. Ms. Chen received her J.D. degree from Emory University School of Law in May 2010, and also holds a B.A. degree in Anthropology from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. Ms. Chen is a native speaker of Mandarin.

Robert Schwaba is an associate attorney for the Firm's Illinois Chicago Loop office. Mr. Schwaba is a member of both the Firm's bankruptcy and litigation departments.

While at the Firm, Mr. Schwaba has participated in a variety of bankruptcy litigation matters.
Mr. Schwaba has been employed as an associate attorney at the Firm since graduating from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. In the course of his employment at the Firm he has drafted appellate briefs for the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, as well as a brief for an appeal to the Northern District of Illinois and numerous briefs in other bankruptcy matters.

Mr. Schwaba first worked as a law clerk in the Firm's Chicago Loop office while attending Loyola University Chicago School of Law. During this time he played a major role in drafting an appellate brief for the United States Court Of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, as well as a variety of briefs to the bankruptcy courts. One Seventh Circuit decision successfully overturned long standing Seventh Circuit precedent, resulting in new law requiring secured creditors to immediately return property of the bankruptcy estate to the debtor without the need to file an adversary proceeding. See Thompson v. General Motor Acceptance Corp., 566 F.3d 699 (7th Cir. 2009).

Prior to attending Loyola University Chicago School of Law, Mr. Schwaba worked for a nationwide captive automobile finance corporation. Mr. Schwaba attained a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 2003 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Mr. Schwaba was born in the northern suburbs of Chicago.

Aaron Weinberg is an associate attorney for the Firm's Chicago office. Mr. Weinberg is a member of the both the Firm's bankruptcy and litigation departments. Mr. Weinberg currently handles all of the Firm's Chapter 13 matters assigned before the Honorable Judge Wedoff.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Weinberg graduated from the John Marshall Law School. Prior to and while in Law School Mr. Weinberg worked as a project assistant for Kirkland and Ellis, LLP.

Prior to attending John Marshall Law School. Mr. Weinberg attained a bachelor's degree with a focus in History and a minor in biology from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. Mr. Weinberg was born in Chicago and raised in Northwest Indiana.

Robert Mick is an associate attorney at the Firm’s Joliet office. Mr. Mick is a member of the Firm’s bankruptcy department where he handles all bankruptcy matters for clients in the collar counties of Will, Kendall, Grundy, and LaSalle. While at the Firm, Mr. Mick has advised and consulted hundreds of clients at both the Joliet and South Side Chicago offices in addition to preparing and filing their bankruptcy petitions.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Mick graduated from The John Marshall Law School. While attending The John Marshall Law School, Mr. Mick was a law clerk for the Illinois Office of the Attorney General, Lisa Madigan, in their special litigation and civil rights divisions, as well as a law clerk for the firm of Pissetzky & Berliner where he practiced in both criminal defense and real estate. After graduating from The John Marshall Law School, Mr. Mick continued to work for Pissetzky & Berliner as a short sale negotiator, as well as a volunteer legal advisor for the Chicago Legal Clinic where he advised homeowners facing foreclosure at the Daley Center’s Chancery Help Desk.

Prior to attending The John Marshall Law School, Mr. Mick attained a Bachelor of Science in Communications in 2005 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Mr. Mick was born and raised in the Chicago-land area.

Christian D. Elenbaas joined Robert J. Semrad & Associates, L.L.C. in February, 2010 and is an associate in the litigation department at the Chicago Loop office. Mr. Elenbaas has been practicing law since 2007 and focuses on representing the Firm;s clients in going after harassing debt collectors and repossession agents under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Elenbaas represented plaintiffs in personal injury and medical malpractice litigation. He obtained his Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he graduated summa cum laude.

Israel J. Moskovits joined Robert J. Semrad & Associates in 2011 and is an associate in the firm's Chicago Loop office. He is a member of the firm's bankruptcy department. Mr. Moskovits focuses primarily on representing debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy. He also handles adversary hearings before the Honorable Jack B. Schmetterer.

Prior to joining Robert J. Semrad & Associates, Mr. Moskovits practiced foreclosure defense at a Chicago-area law firm. He received his law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2010. While in law school, Mr. Moskovits was co-chair of the local chapter of the Decalogue Society of Lawyers and a member of the Dean's List. Mike Miller is an attorney for the firm’s office in Aurora. Mr. Miller joined Robert J. Semrad and Associates in 2004 as a law clerk, and then became an Associate Attorney in 2006.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Miller graduated with Honors from Roosevelt University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Management, in 2001.

Mr. Miller then went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from The John Marshall Law School in 2005. While in law school, Mr. Miller was an extern with the United States Department of Justice’s Office. In addition, Mr. Miller also was an extern at the Greater Southwest Development Predatory Lending Clinic, helping consumers against predatory lending practices.

Mr. Miller is currently a member and volunteer in the Chicago CARE program which provides educational seminars to students for the responsible use of credit. Mr. Miller was born and raised in Illinois.

Darren R. Hojnacki joined Robert J. Semrady & Assoc. LLC in July 2010 and is an associate in the Atlanta, GA office. Mr. Hojnacki has been practicing consumer bankruptcy (representing debtors exclusively) since 2007. He primarily supports RJS's court call for Chapter 13 cases. He has been interviewed on family law topics on both television and radio, and has volunteered his time at divorce support groups. Mr. Shaw is continues to serve as an attorney presenter at KIDS (Kids in a Divorcing Society) family court program for parents (1993- present), and is currently the Chair of the Kane County Family Law Committee. He and his firm also support various legal service groups that serve those in need.

Lisa M. Giese is a licensed attorney working out of the Wheaton office in DuPage County. Lisa specializes in divorce, probate and bankruptcy law in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Will and surrounding collar counties. Lisa has handled a variety of cases involving contested and uncontested divorce, child support, paternity, visitation, chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcy, loan modifications, creditor negotiations, estate planning and probate administration. While in law school, Lisa focused her studies in family law and earned her certificate in Child and Family Law upon graduation.

Lisa is a trained Guardian ad Litem with the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Court and has been appointed by the court on numerous occasions to serve in that capacity and to make recommendations relating to removal and custody. Lisa has also served many years as a volunteer for the Court Appointed Special Advocate program, assisting in complex abuse or neglect cases within the juvenile court system. I am a native Chicagoan, and moved to DuPage County in 1972.

I attended DePaul Law School full-time in the evening, while working for one of the major trust companies in the Chicago Loop. I therefore received extensive training and experience in Estate Planning, Probate and Tax matters, and have practiced in those areas for over 30 years.

My first employment after law school was with a Chicago law firm that specialized in Real Estate and Real Estate Development matters. I worked for them for several years, adding extensive experience in both residential and commercial real estate transactions and commercial real estate development to my legal expertise.

As a private practitioner in DuPage County, I continued practicing in these fields, and added representation of clients in divorce and other domestic and family related matters. I have now represented hundreds of clients relative to dissolution of their marriages. Several judges have also appointed me as Guardian ad-litem or attorney for children in troubled situations or in complex divorce cases.

I feel that my expertise in each of these areas compliment the other. For example, complex divorces often involve real estate or business holdings, with the accompanying valuation and ownership issues. Sometimes, a trust for the benefit of children is appropriate. In doing estate planning, there is often the need to plan appropriately for the second marriage situation. Real estate clients also often need to appropriately plan their estates, and to take title to their home in a manner that is consistent with their ultimate estate desires.

I was admitted to practice in the courts of Illinois in 1971 and the U.S. Federal Court in 1971, and admitted to practice before the U.S. Tax Court in 1992. I am a member of both the Illinois and DuPage County Bar Associations.

I have been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Glen Ellyn for some years, and am presently the President of the club. As such, I recently accepted, on behalf of our club, the Family Shelter Services Civic Partner of the year award. We work closely with Family Shelter Services and other organizations to provide benefits to children in need.

My primary hobby is the study of history, particularly of the American Civil War period. I am the past president of two Civil War Round Tables (Chicago and Salt Creek, which meets in Glen Ellyn, Illinois), and a member of three Round Tables (Chicago, Salt Creek and Milwaukee). I have also given presentations, on a number of topics, to round tables throughout the midwest.
