My practice is limited primarily to two areas, driver's license reinstatement and worker's compensation/personal injury. My background affords you a unique perspective.

For 15 years, I heard driver's license cases as a contractual hearing officer for the Secretary of State (DMV). I previously represented insurance companies defending worker's compensation and personal injury cases. These experiences have provided me with the opportunity to understand how the opposing side thinks and operates.

Rolfe Ehrmann concentrates his practice on family law, criminal law, appeals and general trial litigation. He is a member of the American, Illinois and Lee County Bar Associations. Rolfe is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Illinois Supreme Court, and all Illinois State Courts and the Federal Court in Northern Illinois.
Rolfe has tried literally thousands of cases in the past 30 years. He has been an Assistant State’s Attorney, an Illinois Appellate Prosecutor and a Defense Attorney.

Of Rolfe’s cases, 30 have been published in law books nationwide as legal precedent in many areas of the law. The Chicago Daily Law Bulletin has published numerous articles about Rolfe's cases on such subjects as forfeiture, double jeopardy, municipal elections, and murder. The Illinois State Bar Association conducted a seminar for attorneys covering, in part, Rolfe’s case on land valuation. The October 2007 Reader's Digest has an article about Rolfe’s most recent case in the Illinois Supreme Court about the rights of children, parents and grandparents.

Rolfe was admitted to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court in 1980 and since that time he has filed Petitions for Certiorari concerning double jeopardy, due process and the power of the states to control inheritance.

Lawyers and judges are not allowed to try death penalty cases in Illinois unless they are first certified by the Illinois Supreme Court. Only two private attorneys in northwest Illinois are currently certified to handle death penalty cases. Rolfe is one of them.

Rolfe has been published on ethics in the Illinois Bar Journal. This article was cited by name by the Illinois Appellate Courts in six different cases when they were deciding the rules of ethical conduct.

Rolfe is a graduate of DePaul University College of Law and was a Law Clerk for Presiding Justice Eberspacher of the Fifth District Illinois Appellate Court. He has been active in his community as Chairman of the Sheriff’s Merit Commission, member of the Lee County Council on Aging and formerly as President of the Lee County Bar Association, President of the Dixon Rotary Club, Chairman of the Lee County Board of Health and active in many other like organizations.

Attorney G. Edward Murphy is the managing attorney and lead counsel for The Murphy Law Group, P.C., and is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. He has handled over 4,500 divorce, family law and criminal law cases over the last 21 years. He is a Peoria native who returned home after law school and later joined James D. Reynolds to start the firm in 1988.

Mr. Murphy is a graduate of Northern Illinois University College of Law, where he graduated third in his class. He received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1987. He received his undergraduate Bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa, and he completed his Associates degree at Illinois Central College. Mr. Murphy is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and Peoria County Bar Association. He serves on local family law committees and is a member of the family law section at both the local and state level. He is also a certified family law mediator, able to mediate and arbitrate all family law matters involved in dissolution of marriage actions.

G. Edward Murphy has a history of success in all that he has undertaken. He was a successful student-athlete, excelling in sports as an All-State baseball player and golfer in high school, and pitching in baseball for the University of Iowa in college. In law school, he continued this level of success by graduating 3rd in his entire class, writing as an Editor for the Law Review, and competing in the Moot Court competition. This history of accomplishment in both academic and athletic arenas prepared him well for becoming a trial attorney. For the past 21 years, Mr. Murphy has continued to excel in all areas of family law and in mediation. He was voted one of "Illinois Law and Leading Attorneys" in both Family Law and Criminal Law, a distinction given to only the top 6% of attorneys in the State of Illinois. He is a respected member of the bar and a leading attorney in the family law arena. He limits his practice now solely to family law, divorce, custody, and complex property issues.

Mr. Murphy is married with four children. He resides in Peoria, Illinois.
