I represent clients in the North Georgia area with their uncontested divorces for a low flat fee. A basic uncontested divorce without minor children is $250.00 and an uncontested divorces with minor children and one court appearance is $500.00. Since I am an attorney and not a paralegal or a document preparation service, I will represent you every step of the way until your divorce is finalized.

For your convenience, the whole process from the initial consultation, to reviewing the drafts, making any changes that might be requested by your spouse and all the way to getting your final documents can be done online or by telephone without you or your spouse ever having to come to my office.

If you and your spouse do not have minor children the news is even better because in uncontested cases without children where you are represented by an attorney you do not have to appear in court which means the whole process is basically done online, by telephone and via mail. However, in cases where there are minor children involved you will have to go to court for a short hearing so the Judge can review the child support and visitation agreements but I will be right there with you giving you support and answering any questions that the Judge might have.

I do not use paralegals or other support staff to prepare your documents, take your phone calls or respond to your emails and instead handle all aspects of your case personally. If you retain me instead of hiring a document preparation service or an online divorce mill that might have one attorney supervising 10 - 100 paralegals, you will actually get to speak with me one-on-one.

David L. McGuffey is in private practice with Lovingood McGuffey, P.C. located in Dalton, Georgia. David limits his practice to Elder Law. This means he helps individuals who are elders or who have special needs, as well as their caregivers. Much of David's practice is devoted to helping individuals with chronic health conditions find, get and pay for good long-term care. David is certified as an Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation and as an Elder Law Specialist by the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization. David attended Georgia State University (B.A., 1987; J.D., 1993). He is a member of: the the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys; American Association for Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America) and various local bar associations. He is the current Chair of the State Bar of Georgia's Elder Law Section and is a past-chair of the Tennessee Bar Association's Elder Law Section. David has been a member of the American Association for Justice since 1997 and, from 2006-2007, served as Chair of one of its national litigation groups. David holds memberships in other groups associated with elder advocacy such as the National Citizens' Coalition for Nursing Home Reform. David is a member of the Board of Directors of the Northwest Georgia Healthcare Partnership (re-joining the Board in 2008) and the Northwest Georgia office of Georgia Alzheimer's chapter. He is an advisory committee member for Peachtree Estates Assisted Living Facility and Ross Woods Adult Day Care Center. In 2008, David joined the Ethics Advisory Committee for Alexian Brothers in Chattanooga. David is a member of the Special Needs Alliance, a group of attorneys dedicated to the practice of disability and public benefits law.

The Elder Law Practice is a member of the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association and David is a member of that Association's Board of Directors. David is one of three co-editors of the NAELA E-Bulletin, a weekly electronic newsletter that keeps Elder Law Attorneys up-to-date on news and cases related to the practice of Elder Law.

David is a Christian (Presbyterian). His core beliefs generally follow those states in the The Apostles' Creed. Although we do not impose our beliefs on anyone, if religious values are important to you, then we will attempt to incorporate them into the planning process upon a client's request.

In his free time, David is an avid reader. He enjoys the outdoors, good food (cooking as well as eating), travel, and movies. One of David's favorite activities is watching Georgia Bulldogs football (Do you have tickets?). His favorite TV show is House, although 24 runs a close second. Josh Teaque is a multi-generational Ellijay native.
After graduating from Gilmer High School he received his Bachelor of Science with honors in Social Science Education from Kennesaw State University in 2006. Josh completed his studies at Florida Coastal School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate in 2010 and graduated in the top 20% of his class.

While attending law school, Josh completed internships with Superior Court Chief Judge Brenda Weaver, Superior Court Judge Roger Bradley and the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida. While enrolled in law school, Josh received numerous honors including accolades for trial advocacy and criminal law. He was also coached in appellate advocacy by one of the top moot court instructors in the country.

Josh and his wife LeeAnn have one daughter. He currently serves as the choir director for Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Ellijay, Georgia, and enjoys spending time with his family. Josh also enjoys fishing and is an avid motorsports and muscle car enthusiast.
