I litigate, arbitrate, and try multimillion dollar disputes for individuals and businesses located in the United States and abroad. I have experience in a wide array of legal and procedural areas including: pharmaceutical, product liability, and environmental torts; multidistrict and class action cases involving antitrust, securities, and consumer fraud violations; individual personal injury and wrongful death claims arising from general negligence, medical malpractice, toxic exposures, defective products (drugs, autos, medical devices); lawsuits on behalf of businesses, partnerships, and franchisees for damages related to fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, and statutory claims; and claims for the owners of intellectual property seeking damages for theft of trade secrets, patent infringement, and copyright violations. I represent both plaintiffs and defendants as well as large corporations and individuals. I evaluate potential cases everyday with an eye towards investing my law firm's time and money for clients. I've been asked to join preexisting teams prior to trial, and take over lead counsel just prior to trial. I have also agreed to take cases that other lawyers or law firms believed did not justify the investment of time and expense necessary to achieve the client's objectives. I prefer merit based fee arrangements that tie my ultimate compensation to the results I obtain for my client. I've agreed to take over cases pursuant to merit based fee agreements from law firms hired under traditionally hourly terms. Iâve convince my partners to accept merit based fee agreements ranging from reduced hourly fees with a bonus, to fully contingent compensation requiring my firm to advance the value of our time as well as all expert and case expenses required for the case. My firm is a litigation boutique and we only handle litigation matters for clients. We have offices in five cities: Houston, Dallas, Seattle, Los Angeles, and New York City, and have licensed attorneys available to represent clients in those cities and across the United States. Chelsie Garza is an experienced litigator who has tried cases extensively in state and federal court. Outside of the office, Chelsie Garza's life is dedicated to her two children. In order to balance a busy litigation docket and a family life, she hones her skill of multi-tasking and exploits her inability to accept down time. Chelsie grew up sharing time between the small California Death Valley town Trona and New York/New Jersey metroplex. This dichotomy between small town and big city illustrates her ability to fit in anywhere. She was educated on the East Coast, completing her undergraduate degree in New Jersey and law school in Washington, DC, yet she has put down roots in Texas.

Just as she dedicates herself to her children, she pours herself into each and every case. Chelsie recently successfully settled a claim with a major medical provider after her client was tragically rendered a quadriplegic following a routine exam. She was able to obtain lifetime support for the client and his family.

Not only does Chelsie work to help those who have suffered horrible injuries; she has also worked on many pro bono cases. She recently handled a case that positively changed the coming and going rule for the entire State of Texas in regards to workers' compensation. Her work on a case for former Houston Police Officer, Eluid Hinojosa, helped get him workers' compensation benefits after he was injured during the call of duty. Chelsie worked as a zealous advocate and was able to obtain a ruling that set precedent.

Chelsie is also actively working to improve the community and is a member of the Tahiri Justice Center. This organization was founded in 1997 to provide immigrant women and girls legal assistance to help them gain legal protection and immigration status under U.S. Law. While managing an extensive case load and donating her time to worthy causes, she still makes time for fun. She recently placed third in the First Annual Abraham, Watkins Skeet Shoot.

Since graduating from The University of Texas School of Law in 1984, Darryl Carter has successfully tried a broad cross-section of civil cases before judges, juries and arbitration panels. He has gotten excellent results for a range of clients, from doctors, lawyers, inventors, and business executives, to employees in the construction, distribution, software and healthcare fields. Legal matters that Mr. Carter has resolved favorably, through either trial or settlement, include: complex business litigation, defamation, legal malpractice, partnership disputes, shareholder matters, wrongful termination, discrimination, Sarbanes-Oxley retaliation, whistleblower, and serious personal injury.

Mr. Carter's practice focuses on representing plaintiffs in business and employment litigation. In May 2009, Mr. Carter was lead trial counsel for a patent holder in a legal malpractice case against a big international law firm. The jury returned one of the largest legal malpractice verdicts ever in Texas, and the case settled confidentially before entry of judgment. The National Law Journal/Verdict Search in March 2010 released its annual list of the Top 100 jury verdicts in the U.S. This case was ranked as the 25th largest verdict in the nation for 2009.

Mr. Carter was co-counsel in obtaining for three law firms a major arbitration award. Tanox, Inc v. Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld L.L.P., et al., 105 S.W.3d 244 (Tex.App.-Houston [14th Dist.] 2003, pet. denied).

Mr. Carter is a frequent speaker at Continuing Legal Education seminars hosted by law schools and bar associations across the state, including the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Center for the Judiciary, The University of Texas School of Law, the University of Houston Law School, South Texas College of Law, the Houston Bar Association, and the Dallas Bar Association.

Mr. Carter has been named by Texas Monthly Magazine as a "Texas Super Lawyer" in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. "Texas Super Lawyers" constitute the top 5 percent of attorneys in each state, as chosen by their peers and through the independent research of Law & Politics.
