Contrary to other family law firms that stress only costly litigation, our focus is on executing a winning strategy built specifically for your case. Our goal is to help you set the stage to "win" your case-and your confidence. Family law cases seldom see a so called "winner" or "loser". By their very nature, family law cases start out with personal crisis or misfortune such as break up, a divorce, or even a death. From that point forward, the parties are trying to pick up the pieces of the crisis and move forward with their lives. Since over 90% of all litigated cases eventually settle, a strategy that incorporates this likelihood is usually the most effective.

As a legal professional, Gary Kollmeier has been actively involved with the local, county, and state legal communities. He was been elected president of both the Denton County Bar Association and the Family Law Section of the Denton Bar. In addition, Gary has fulfilled all requirements necessary to be a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, the Denton County Collaborative Family Law Professionals Practice Group, the Collaborative Law Institute of Texas, the Denton County Real Estate and Probate Section, the Denton County Trial Lawyers Section, The State Bar of Texas, The College of the State Bar of Texas, and other professional affiliations. Karen A. Alexander is a graduate of Baylor University, School of Law. Mrs. Alexander is the owner of Alexander & Associates and specializes in criminal cases. Since opening her own law office, Ms. Alexander has successfully negotiated and tried criminal cases in both County Courts and District Courts throughout Denton, Dallas and Tarrant Counties. A prosecutor has described Ms. Alexander as "a damn good lawyer" and a Judge commented that Ms. Alexander demonstrated superior trial skills and even went so far as to discuss the quality of Ms. Alexander's closing argument with other defense lawyers in chambers.

Prior to opening her own firm, Mrs. Alexander worked for the Denton County District Attorney's Office as a criminal prosecutor. Mrs. Alexander has conducted fifty or more court hearings as a prosecutor and as a defense attorney, more than fifty jury trials. The court room is where Mrs. Alexander feels at home.
