Lindsey Paige Markus assists business owners and families plan their estates, protect assets, transfer wealth, and minimize taxation. Lindsey works closely with clients to formulate succession plans, advise on business formation, wealth preservation and gift and estate taxation.

An associate with the law firm of Chuhak & Tecson, P.C. since 2006, Lindsey received her J.D. degree from Loyola University of Chicago. Lindsey was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2006 and the Florida Bar in 2007. Founded in 1987, Chuhak & Tecson, P.C. has over sixty attorneys who concentrate in a variety of areas which include estate planning, asset protection corporate transactions, secured lending, as well as civil and commercial litigation.

Prior to attending law school, Lindsey studied cognitive restructuring training to maximize intelligence, a part of the evolving science of teachable intelligence. She participated in NASA's Critical Thinking Project from 2001-2004. Lindsey also co-authored Retrain Your Business Brain: Outsmart the Corporate Competition, published by Dearborn Press in 2003. Retrain Your Business Brain has also been published in China, Japan, Korea and Indonesia. She also co-authored The Road Trip: A Parable About Where to Lead, When to Follow, and How to Get Out of the Way, published in 2008.

Lindsey graduated with honors from Brandeis University in 1997 with a B.A., cum laude, in Economics and minors in Spanish and Managerial Business. As part of her M.A. program, Lindsey studied abroad at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. She speaks Spanish and conversational Italian.

In 2007, Atty. Thomas became the EEO/Diversity Manager for the Chicago Transit Authority where she managed the company's EEO discrimination process and investigated discrimination complaints filed by employees. She developed EEO law training curriculum and served as the Reconsideration Hearing Officer for CTA's DBE and Contract Compliance Programs. Attorney Thomas concentrates in the areas of bankruptcy, family law, estate planning, and real estate law.

Attorney Thomas is a licensed real estate broker and has received extensive training in bankruptcy and family law. She is currently a member of the Chicago Bar Association and National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. She also facilitates seminars regarding employment discrimination in the workplace and provides legal counsel to non-profit organizations.

Sharon R. Knobbe is a partner with Knobbe, Laho, Gradishar & Mack, L, where her practice is concentrated in family law and collections. Sharon is an active member of the DuPage County Bar Association, where she currently serves as the 3rd Vice President and has also served, by appointment, as the DCBA Associate Counsel, Chairman of the Family Law Committee Chairman for the Membership Committee, Judiciary Committee, Planning Committee, CLE Committee and has volunteered her time to act as a Judicial Intervention Leader. Sharon is also the 1st Vice President of the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers and Past President of the DuPage Chapter of the Justinian Society of Lawyers. Denice A. Gierach is a business lawyer with almost 30 years of experience representing business owners in the formation, franchising, and dissolution of businesses; representing employers in matters of employment and age discrimination in the workplace; and aiding individuals in matters of advanced estate planning, charitable giving, Medicare and Medicaid, and Social Security.

As a Certified Public Accountant with a Master's degree in Management, Ms. Gierach also practices in the areas of Income Taxation, Federal Estate Taxation, and varied Real Estate Law, including commercial real estate.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Ms. Gierach began her career in accounting working for several CPA firms, including Haskins & Sells and Friedman Eisenstein Fraemer & Schwartz in Chicago.

Ms. Gierach worked for the firm of Barnard & Barnard in Chicago for almost 10 years at the start of her legal career. For almost twenty years, she practiced as Gierach & Associates and recently founded The Gierach Law Firm to provide better service to her clients.

From the beginning of her legal career, Ms. Gierach provided legal services to individuals and small and mid-sized companies in the areas of business, estate planning, taxation, employment law, commercial real estate, succession planning. She continues to focus on these areas in her current practice.

Ms. Gierach is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, DuPage County Bar Association, and Arizona State Bar Association. Richard Schmack was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Berwyn, Illinois. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois in 1977 with double majors in Political Science and History. In 1980 he received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.

Upon graduation from law school in 1980, Richard was admitted to the Illinois Bar and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois. He is a member of the Federal Trial Bar. Richard has made DeKalb County his home since1985. He, his wife, Jackie, who is his office manager, and their sons reside in Sycamore.

Prior to opening his private practice in 1989, Richard served as an Assistant DeKalb County State's Attorney, handling misdemeanor and traffic prosecution, as well as child support enforcement. In his capacity as the civil assistant, Richard represented DeKalb County in lawsuits in Federal and State courts, served as legal advisor to all departments of County government, and represented the County's Zoning Board of Appeals, gaining valuable knowledge of the County's zoning ordinances and regulations.
