An honors graduate of UC-Berkeley and Harvard Law School, Neil Shouse served five years as Deputy District Attorney for Los Angeles County. He prosecuted more than 60 criminal trials, and handled more than 1,000 evidentiary hearings. He earned a reputation as one of the toughest and most successful trial prosecutors, with an astounding 96% success rate in felony criminal jury trials to verdict.

As a trial prosecutor, Mr. Shouse's cases ranged from DUIs and drug charges to complex, high profile murders. He worked in close partnership with police, detectives, the California Highway Patrol, criminalists and fellow prosecutors.

Among his cases was the successful prosecution of Shadae Schmidt, a college student who shot and killed her mother and then staged a fake robbery scene. Shadae Schmidt was defended at the trial by Michael Jackson lawyer Thomas Messereau.

Mr. Shouse frequently speaks as a guest legal commentator on national television. He has appeared on Good Morning America, CNN, Court TV, Fox News Channel and Public Television.

Prior to serving as a trial prosecutor, Mr. Shouse was a litigator for several of the nation's top law firms, including the global law firm Sidley Austin Brown & Wood. In that role, he represented such clients as AT&T, Microsoft, Metropolitan Life, Western Union and KPMG.

PERSONAL BACKGROUND
Born in Dayton, Ohio in 1965, Daryl D. Anthony grew up in Madison, New Jersey, a upper/ middle class suburb about 30 minutes outside of New York City. He moved to California after going to college in Ithaca, New York and graduating from law school in Philadelphia, PA in 1990. He is currently single, never married, residing in Santa Ana and Newport Beach, California.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Daryl Anthony, Attorney at Law--Private criminal defense practice: 1997 to present. Represented numerous criminal defendants in state and federal courts in a wide range of criminal cases including homicides, third strike cases, rape, sex offenses, drug cases, theft cases, assaults, domestic violence, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs and major complex fraud actions. Orange County Public Defender -- Deputy Public Defender: 1991- 1995. Defended over 100 jury trials in various criminal cases. Also represented parents in CA Welfare and Institution section 300 proceedings, where termination of parental rights was at stake. Experienced many difficult and demanding clients with mental health and stability issues. Experienced clients suffering with alcohol and drug addiction and treatment issues. Gained initial experience with scores of expert and professional witnesses, law enforcement, court personnel, client family members and the criminal justice system itself.

A former Marine and graduate of the University of California at Berkeley (1966) and the UCLA School of Law (1969), Lawrence Eric Taylor served as deputy public defender and deputy district attorney in Los Angeles before entering private practice. He was the trial judge's legal advisor in People vs Charles Manson, was Supreme Court counsel in the Onion Field murder case and was retained by the Attorney General of Montana as an independent Special Prosecutor to conduct a one-year grand jury probe of governmental corruption.

Turning to teaching, Mr. Taylor served on the faculty of Gonzaga University School of Law, where he was voted Professor of the Year, was invited to be Visiting Professor at Pepperdine University Law School, and was finally appointed Fulbright Professor of Law at Osaka University in Japan.

With over 33 years of experience, Lawrence Taylor is the author of over thirty articles and 13 books, including the standard text on DUI / DWI litigation, Drunk Driving Defense, 6th edition (N.Y.: Aspen Law and Business) and California Drunk Driving Defense, 3rd edition (St. Paul, MN: West Publishing). He is one of only 4 DUI attorneys in California who is Board-certified as a DUI defense specialist.

Over the past twenty-five years Mr. Taylor has proven a popular lecturer on DUI trial techniques and constitutional issues at over 200 CLE seminars in 38 states, including those sponsored by the American Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and numerous state bar associations including the California State Bar. He was one of the original thirteen founders of the National College for DUI Defense, served on the Board of Regents and was elected Dean for 1995-1996. On July 25, 2002, at Harvard Law School, Mr. Taylor was presented with the National College's Richard Erwin Lifetime Achievement Award.
