In addition, Gary has fulfilled all requirements necessary to be a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, the Denton County Collaborative Family Law Professionals Practice Group, the Collaborative Law Institute of Texas, the Denton County Real Estate and Probate Section, the Denton County Trial Lawyers Section, The State Bar of Texas, The College of the State Bar of Texas, and other professional affiliations. Gary has served on many local public service boards including the Denton County Law Library Board, as well as being a regular volunteer mediator for the Denton County Alternate Dispute Resolution Program. Gary has also served as a Alternate Municipal Judge of the City Lewisville Municipal Court since 2000.

Born in Levo?a, Slovakia, Martin Valko spent his childhood traveling and living in several countries due to his father’s career as a diplomat and Ambassador for Slovak Republic (formerly Czechoslovakia). He moved to the United States in 1991 to complete his high school studies, where he also obtained his college and law degrees.

Martin Valko is married to a 5-time Olympian (2-time Olympic silver medalist, World and European Champion) swimmer Martina Moravcova, and they reside in Dallas, Texas. Martin is fluent in Slovak, Czech, and English, and is conversant in Russian.

Karen A. Alexander is a graduate of Baylor University, School of Law. Mrs. Alexander is the owner of Alexander & Associates and specializes in criminal cases. Since opening her own law office, Ms. Alexander has successfully negotiated and tried criminal cases in both County Courts and District Courts throughout Denton, Dallas and Tarrant Counties. A prosecutor has described Ms. Alexander as "a damn good lawyer" and a Judge commented that Ms. Alexander demonstrated superior trial skills and even went so far as to discuss the quality of Ms. Alexander's closing argument with other defense lawyers in chambers.

Prior to opening her own firm, Mrs. Alexander worked for the Denton County District Attorney's Office as a criminal prosecutor. Mrs. Alexander has conducted fifty or more court hearings as a prosecutor and as a defense attorney, more than fifty jury trials. The court room is where Mrs. Alexander feels at home. When negotiations fall through or a prosecutor just doesn't want to see their case for what it is, Mrs. Alexander is ready to play ball inside of the courtroom.
