The Legal Aid Society of Orange County and Community Legal Services in Los Angeles County (collectively "Legal Aid") are non-profit agencies that provide free legal services to Orange County and portions of southeast/south central Los Angeles County's poor and elderly. They are funded by a combination of public and private sources. This year, Legal Aid will assist over 26,000 low-income individuals and seniors with legal matters through its four offices in Santa Ana, Anaheim, Compton and Norwalk. Approximately two-thirds of these clients were women, with a large percentage of the services provided for them either directly or indirectly benefiting children.

The Asian Pacific American Legal Center of Southern California (APALC) is the nation's largest legal organization serving the Asian and Pacific Islander (API) communities. Founded in 1983, APALC is a unique organization that combines traditional legal services with civil rights advocacy and leadership development. The mission of APALC is to advocate for civil rights, provide legal services and education and build coalitions to positively influence and impact Asian Pacific Americans and to create a more equitable and harmonious society.

Since 1973, the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice (“LACLJ”) has provided high quality free legal representation, education, and advocacy to low-income residents and communities of East, Northeast and Southeast Los Angeles. We specialize in family, housing, and government benefits law. We perform these services for our clients to improve their fundamental living conditions and to empower them to achieve self-sufficiency.

Case Restrictions:
Clients must live within the Los Angeles County and must be within the ages of 12-22 and have experienced domestic violence.We provide free and confidential legal services to youth ages 12-22, including full court representation to victims of domestic violence who are seeking restraining orders, divorces, child custody, and other domestic violence related court proceedings.

The Harriett Buhai Center provides family law and domestic violence assistance to low-income families in Los Angeles through the efforts of volunteer lawyers, paralegals and students. The mission of the Center is to assure these families access to the courts, reduce poverty among children and single parents, and stop domestic violence. The focus of the Center’s efforts is on legal problems involving custody, visitation, support of children and establishing parentage. The Center strives to teach self-advocacy by preparing individuals to represent their own interests in court, with an emphasis on building skills and increasing self-esteem.
