Ms. McDonald received her Bachelor of Science degree with distinction in Journalism with special emphasis in Mathematics, Philosophy and French from the University of Kansas in 1994, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa Academic Honor Society, Kappa Tau Alpha National Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi Collegiate Honor Society. Work History
Ms. McDonald started her legal career as a summer clerk for Federal Magistrate Judge Bruce D. Pringle. She went on to a large firm touching on a wide variety of personal and corporate legal issues and settled in the corporate restructuring and capital recovery division. In 2004, Ms. McDonald became In-House Counsel for a real estate firm providing legal advice and counsel from corporate formation issues to business succession planning to contracts to auditing company policies and procedures. In 2009, Ms. McDonald joined forces with Ms. Johansen and formed Johansen, McDonald & Associates, P.C. to focus on providing legal services to small- to medium-sized businesses and business owners. Today, Ms. McDonald remains associated with Ms. Johansen as Of Counsel to The Johansen Law Office, P.C. and runs McDonald Law, LLC.

Community Involvement
Ms. McDonald is a current member of the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce, the Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce, and the Legislative Action Committee for the Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Denver Bar Association, and the following divisions of the Colorado Bar Association: Intellectual Property; Solo/Small Firm Practice; Trusts and Estates; and Business Law. Ms. McDonald has served as a Children's Ministry Director and volunteered extensively for a variety of adult literacy programs. David M. McLain is a founding member of Higgins, Hopkins, McLain & Roswell, LLC, a firm which specializes in construction defect and general civil litigation throughout Colorado. Mr. McLain received his undergraduate degree from Colorado State University, graduating cum laude, and his law degree from the University of Denver College of Law. Tyler Murray, Esq. attended law school at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. While there he gained litigation experience in United States Tax Court while interning at the Low Income Tax Clinic. He also volunteered with the AARP-Vita program where he prepared federal tax returns for elderly and low-income individuals. Tyler was very active in the law school community and graduated with Pro Bono honors for completing over 150 hours of volunteer work while in law school.
After graduating from Florida Coastal in 2009 Tyler moved to Denver to sit for the bar exam and begin his LL.M. in taxation at the University of Denver. He was sworn in to the Colorado Bar in October of 2009. During his studies at the University of Denver, Tyler focused on the taxation of entities. A Brief History of Jim

After passing the bar in 1979, Jim served in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps. As trial counsel and government appellate counsel, he prosecuted at trial and on appeal more than 600 courts-martial. He then went on to become a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, serving in the criminal section of the Tax Division, where he prosecuted numerous cases involving violations of the tax laws in the federal courts. During his tenure in Washington, D.C., Jim obtained the longest sentences adjudged to date against tax protestor (militia) defendants.

He left in 1986 to escape to the mountains and practice civil litigation and business law in the Denver Metro area. He worked with a number of private law firms until opening his own practice in 1993. Since 1994, Jim has practiced law with his wife and law partner, Joanne.

Jeff focuses on family law and divorce issues and handles every aspect of his clients' cases. He is part of a larger network of select family law and divorce attorneys that share strategies and analysis in more difficult and complex cases. He is a mentor to new family law attorneys and is tough and aggressive when needed and conciliatory when such an approach benefits his clients.
