I have been serving clients in my own law firm since 2002. In 2006, I was joined by my partner Robert Salter. My primary focus is real estate and consumer bankruptcy. Robert Salter focuses on estate planning and family law.

There is a popular myth that bankruptcy is a simple solution. For many, however, the bankruptcy process can become complicated and overwhelming -- especially after the so-called "bankruptcy reform" of the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 (BAPCPA). In that capacity, Markus represented the United States at diplomatic negotiations, led Balkan-wide efforts to modernize anti-corruption and anti-fraud enforcement efforts, and spear-headed the restructuring of Kosovo's post-conflict justice system. During this time, the Department of Justice published Markus' Kosovo Trial Skills Handbook, which was translated into Serbian and Albanian and remains the most cited source in Kosovo's Compilation of Applicable Criminal Laws.

In recognition of his service while abroad, the US Department of State conferred to Markus its prestigious Superior Honor Award for "sustained extraordinary performance," the highest general service award conferred by the State Department. Markus has the distinction of being the only person to have received both the Department of Justice's Attorney General's Award and the State Department's Superior Honor Award.

In addition to authoring dozens of criminal law-related academic and popular articles, as well as book chapters on a wide variety of topics, Markus wrote four books, including the highly regarded Stemming the Suffering: Victims' Rights and the International Criminal Court (Oxford University Press, Spring 2010) and Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking: Examining the Global Challenges and U.S. Responses (co-authored with the Hon. Virginia M. Kendall). His legal work has been featured by outlets such as The Atlantic Monthly, CNBC, CNN, The Economist, Investor's Business Daily, The Los Angeles Times, MSNBC, The National Law Journal, the New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.

Markus started his legal career as a law clerk to the Hon. Morris S. Arnold of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and Chief U.S. District Judge Catherine Perry, and as a Lecturer in Law at Oxford University.

Originally from Colorado, Ms. Kristofco graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1997. In 2001, she received her Juris Doctorate from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. At the Jefferson County District Court of Colorado, Ms. Kristofco clerked for the Honorable Judge James Zimmerman. Ms. Kristofco has significant experience in complex litigation matters, both locally and nationally, and has successfully litigated numerous insurance, bad faith, and employment law cases. Reported Cases: Wausau Business Insurance Co. v. US Motels Management, Inc., 341 F.Supp.2d 1180 (D. Colo. 2004). (Drafted successful summary judgment briefs disposing of case.)

Mr. Lindsey's practice is limited to criminal defense. His representation of the accused includes both trial and appeals in both state and federal court. In addition, a large portion of his practice is devoted to the defense of defendants charged with capital crimes at trial and on appeal. His clients have included federal habeas representation of Timothy McVeigh as well as inmates on death row in Colorado, Wyoming and Texas.

In addition to practicing law, Mr. Lindsey is an adjunct professor of law at Denver University School of Law teaching a class in advanced criminal procedure and motions practiced.

Jeff focuses on family law and divorce issues and handles every aspect of his clients' cases. He is part of a larger network of select family law and divorce attorneys that share strategies and analysis in more difficult and complex cases.
