The Barristers AIDS Legal Services Project has directed its resources to assisting low-income people living with HIV disease almost from the very beginning of the HIV epidemic. Since it was founded in 1986, the Project has provided direct one-on-one pro bono legal representation to thousands of people living with HIV and AIDS who have an HIV related legal problem. The scope of services includes immigration, guardianships, discrimination, public and private benefits, debtor relief and bankruptcy, simple estate planning, and housing.

The Mission of the Disability Rights Legal Center, formerly the Western Law Center for Disability Rights, is to promote the rights of people with disabilities and the public interest in and awareness of those rights by providing legal and related services. We accomplish our mission through several programs, which you can browse on the left hand side menu. We are located on the campus of Loyola Law School in Downtown Los Angeles and work with Loyola Law students in all our programs.

The Legal Aid Society of Orange County and Community Legal Services in Los Angeles County (collectively "Legal Aid") are non-profit agencies that provide free legal services to Orange County and portions of southeast/south central Los Angeles County's poor and elderly. They are funded by a combination of public and private sources. This year, Legal Aid will assist over 26,000 low-income individuals and seniors with legal matters through its four offices in Santa Ana, Anaheim, Compton and Norwalk. Approximately two-thirds of these clients were women, with a large percentage of the services provided for them either directly or indirectly benefiting children.

California Lawyers for the Arts is a non-profit service organization which provides lawyer referrals, dispute resolution services, educational programs, publications and a resource library to people in the creative arts and arts organizations. Founded in 1974 by lawyers and artists, C.L.A.'s programs and services are designed to help artists understand and apply legal concepts.

Public Counsel is the largest pro bono public interest law firm in the world. Founded in 1970, Public Counsel is dedicated to advancing equal justice under law by delivering free legal and social services to the most vulnerable members of our community, including abused and abandoned children, homeless families and veterans, senior citizens, victims of consumer fraud and nonprofit organizations serving low-income communities.

The Immigration Legal Assistance Project provides, for a nominal fee, legal assistance and counseling to all categories of low income persons. The Project also provides immigration "services" for the private immigration bar.

Bet Tzedek—Hebrew for the “house of justice”—opened its doors 31 years ago as a one-night-a-week storefront community law office staffed by volunteers. Today, Bet Tzedek is one of the nation’s premier legal services organizations, providing free assistance to more than 10,000 people of every racial and religious background at its headquarters in the Fairfax area and its office in North Hollywood and at more than 30 senior centers throughout Los Angeles County. With a dedicated staff of over 55 and more than 400 active volunteers, Bet Tzedek makes a crucial difference in the lives of the most vulnerable members of the community.

The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center provides a broad array of services for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community. Health services include free or low cost HIV/AIDS medical care, individual and group counseling, HIV/STD testing and prevention, and alternative insemination. The Center also offers legal, social, cultural, and educational services, with unique programs for seniors, families and youth, including a 24-bed transitional living program for homeless youth.
