About this Organization:
The Cyberlaw Clinic provides legal representation to private litigants and other clients in matters involving the public interest and technological development. The Cyberlaw Clinic gives students an opportunity to participate in supervised litigation, policy and legislative advocacy in matters involving technology and the public interest. Through the Clinic, students will develop and hone skills in interviewing and counseling, fact investigation, issue identification, case theory, development, planning and organization, discovery and motions practice, ethics, negotiation and oral advocacy. Bar Certified law students work directly with clients, file legal motions and briefs and argue matters in court. The Environmental Law Clinic at Stanford offers students an opportunity to provide legal assistance to nonprofit organizations on a variety of environmental issues, focusing primarily on natural resource conservation. The clinic's clients include large national environmental organizations such as The Ocean Conservancy, the Sierra Club, and National Parks Conservation Association), as well as a variety of regional and local grassroots groups (such as the Center for Biological Diversity, WaterKeepers Northern California, Environmental Protection Information Center, and Turtle Island Restoration Network). The Immigrants' Rights Clinic (IRC) at Stanford Law School is committed to protecting the human rights of all non-citizens, regardless of immigration status. Professor Jayashri Srikantiah and Teaching Fellow Kathleen Kim supervise students on direct services and legal advocacy projects. Students in the clinic represent individual immigrants in a variety of settings. For example, students have worked on: seeking humanitarian relief from deportation on behalf of non-citizens with criminal convictions, obtaining asylum protection for non-citizens fleeing persecution, and assisting immigrant survivors of domestic violence in gaining lawful status in the United States.

Throughout his tenure at eHarmony, Antone served as primary legal advisor to the senior management team and Board of Directors in corporate and commercial transactions, corporate governance, shareholder relations, litigation strategy, crisis communications and risk management. Key accomplishments included forging strategic partnerships; completing four website acquisitions; supporting major product launches; expanding and enforcing a valuable portfolio of patents, trademarks and domain names; reaching a landmark settlement with the New Jersey Attorney General to resolve a controversial, politically charged discrimination complaint; and leading litigation teams in several complex cases including patent infringement, consumer class action and employment litigation.

Antone has deep roots in the consumer Internet and digital media industries, having served as Corporate Counsel to pioneering broadband Internet content and access provider Excite@Home (Nasdaq: ATHM) from 2000 to 2002 and entertainment guidance technology leader Gemstar-TV Guide (Nasdaq: GMST) from 2002 to 2004. He joined Intermix Media, Inc. (AMEX: MIX) as Assistant General Counsel in 2004 and served as Director of Business & Legal Affairs at its MySpace.com subsidiary during its period of hyper-growth and global expansion, culminating in the company's $650 million sale to Fox Interactive Media. Prior to Excite@Home, Antone spent four years in private practice at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, the world's preeminent technology law firm, and the Los Angeles office of Wall Street firm Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP. David Patton is a certified family law specialist, limiting his practice to family law exclusively. He heads the firm’s family law practice.

Mr. Patton has over 20 years experience as a trial lawyer, spending his early years as a trial lawyer focusing on insurance defense and plaintiff’s personal injury cases. After co-founding Lonich & Patton, LLP in 1994, Mr. Patton developed the firm's family law practice. Since then, he has become one of Silicon Valley’s top family law attorneys.

Mr. Patton is a certified family law specialist. Only attorneys certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization may represent themselves as such. To be certified by the Board of Legal Specialization of the State Bar of California, an attorney must:

Mr. Patton delivers valuable trial experience and cost management to the firm's family law clients. He seeks settlement whenever possible. Mr. Patton was born in Oakland, California in 1960. He is a fifth generation resident of the State of California. Mr. Patton attended Skyline High School, where he was captain of the Skyline ski racing team. After graduating from high school, Mr. Patton attended the University of California at Berkeley. While at Berkeley, he spent a year in France where he attended the Political Science Institute branch of the Sorbonne in Paris. He was also president of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Mr. Patton graduated from Berkeley with two Bachelor of Arts degrees in 1983, and then attended Santa Clara University School of Law. While at Santa Clara University, he served as an editor of the Santa Clara Law Review. He also spent a summer working for a law firm in Singapore, and attending the University of Singapore Law School. Mr. Patton graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1987.

When not at work, Mr. Patton enjoys participating in sporting activities, including ski racing, scuba diving, golf and volleyball, as well as attending Cal Bears football games. He also enjoys travel, and has traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad.

Mr. Patton is a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, where he is a member of the family law section, and the State Bar of California. He is admitted to practice in all California Courts, including the Federal District Court and U.S. Court of Appeals. Mr. Patton has been appointed by the Santa Clara Superior Court to act as a judge pro-tem (volunteer judge) and arbitrator. He has acted as a private judge and mediator as well.
