Has represented secured and unsecured creditors including banks, major oil companies, steel companies, mineral companies, food companies and numerous other fortune 500 companies, major landlords, creditors' committees, debtors, equity holders and equity holders' committees and third parties including landlords, equipment lessors, purchasers of assets, funders of plans, lenders, shareholders and consignors in Chapter 11 cases, plaintiffs and defendants in actions for preferences and fraudulent conveyances. Has represented trustees and debtors in Chapter 7 cases. Has previously represented assignors and assignees in assignments for the benefits of creditors, and buyers and sellers in bulk sales. Has represented banks against debtors in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 cases and in out of court workouts. Has represented a wide range of Chapter 11 debtors, and confirmed plans for debtors including manufacturers, real estate, limited partnerships, retail and department store chains, not-for-profit entities, a public company that had owned Spice and sold it to Playboy, mail order businesses, motels, nightclubs, advertising agencies, recording studios, a movie producer, and the Beacon Theatre, an operator of a famous two thousand seven hundred seat theatre. In the course of representing Chapter 11 debtors, he has assumed and negotiated cases, "crammed down" classes of creditors, negotiated plans, subordinated claims, avoided liens, sold properties free of liens, obtained financing, and had property turned over to the debtor. Has represented creditors' committees for Chapter 11 debtors such as a metal and machine tool business, retail store chains, manufacturers, and the general partner in sixty-five limited partnerships involving two hundred sixty-five oil and gas wells. Harris D. Leinwand has successfully represented parties in WorldCom, Enron, Calpine, Delphi, and Dana, LTV, Grand Union, Kentile, Macy's and is now representing parties in Lyondell and Chemtura. Has successfully moved to vacate stays, convert Chapter 11 cases to Chapter 7 cases, dismiss Chapter 11 cases, have Chapter 11 trustees appointed and have courts abstain from hearing cases or proceedings.

Patrick W. Begos is a founding member of the firm and senior partner in the Westport office. He heads the firm's trial and appellate group. Pat brings 19 years of litigation, arbitration, mediation and negotiation experience to the firm.

Prior to forming Begos Horgan & Brown, Patrick was a partner in the New York City litigation firm Molton & Meekins (1995-1998), and he was previously associated with Weil, Gotshal & Manges (1990-1995); and Lane & Mittendorf (1988-1990).

He is a current member of the Trial Tactics and the Life, Health and Disability Sections of the Defense Research Institute, and a member of the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association. He is also a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution and Trial Evidence subcommittees of the American Bar Association. He is a past member of the Committee on Art Law of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and he is admitted to the bar in New York and Connecticut.

Patrick received his legal education from Columbia University School of Law (J.D) and did his undergraduate work at Johns Hopkins University (BA with honors).

Mr. Ahuja received his education and experience both in India and the United States. Mr. Ahuja holds an LL.M. (International Business Law); an LL.M. in Labor Laws; LL.B. (JD); M.B.A. (Personnel Management & Labor Welfare); M.B.A. (Business Management); a Diploma in German language; a Postgraduate Diploma in Gandhian Philosophy, besides his M.A. (Major: International Relations) and B.A. (Honors) degrees.

Mr. Ahuja has worked as an Attorney (Trademarks) at the United States Department of Commerce, Patent and Trademark Office, as an Of Counsel to Aitken Irvin Lewin Berlin Vrooman & Cohn, LLP, a Washington, D.C. based law firm specializing in the international business law, as a Consultant to M&M Consultants in Massachusetts, as a General Counsel to Soft Computer Consultants in New York, and Regional Manager at Oriental Bank of Commerce, India. I am a partner at LaMonica Herbst & Maniscalco, LLP. I joined the firm as an associate in March 2004 and was made partner in March 2007.

During law school graduated law school, I clerked at the Massachusetts Superior Court, assisted in the denaturalization and deportation of Nazi war criminals residing in the United States while serving at the Department of Justice Office of Special Investigations, litigated numerous criminal cases as a public defender in New Mexico, and worked on a variety of contract, copyright, trademark, and communications issues at National Public Radio's Office of the General Counsel.

After graduation from law school, I worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Nassau County for nearly four years, prosecuting a variety of petty and felony crimes. Prior to joining the Firm, I worked at the Law Offices of David J. Sutton, P.C., as an associate, where my primary areas of practice were general and commercial litigation.
