I've always had a passion for the law and justice. As such, I gave up a successful business career in my mid thirties to obtain a law degree. I graduated from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco in 2001. While in law school, I received multiple awards and honors, including top 10% of my class in my first year and a merit scholarship. I also received special training in trial work, earning certificates in Litigation and Mediation.
My law practice began in commercial/business litigation where I had certain aptitudes and strengths due to my business background. However, due to my strong people skills and a desire to help others, I became attracted to family law. My practice now focuses primarily on family matters, such as divorce, custody, visitation, child and spousal support, paternity, etc. I also draft contracts, both in the family law context (such as prenuptial or cohabitation agreements) and for a variety of business transactions. I mediate divorces and other family law issues as well. I've helped many couples resolve the most acrimonious disputes without them ever having to step inside a courtroom.
Before becoming a lawyer, I gained nearly two decades of business experience in fields such as real estate, insurance, finance, and banking. I am a former California licensed insurance broker and still hold a California real estate license.
My background and experience provides a deeper knowledge and insight when handling clients' divorce issues, for instance, establishing accurate income for support purposes, valuing/dividing a family business, tracing community and separate property funds, and allocating debts, to name a few. Having a broad understanding of financial issues has proven very effective for my clients. Additionally, having solid people skills and truly caring about my clients helps me fully understand the issues that they go through during their divorce. I approach each case with a dedication to accomplishing my clients' goals in an efficient and prudent manner.
