Mitchell M. Wells is admitted to practice law in all state and federal courts in Virginia, concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal law, DUI and traffic violations, and has defended hundreds of cases.

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Wells served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Health Care Fraud section of the Office of the Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Virginia. He was also filmed by the television show "Real Stories of the Highway Patrol." Mr. Wells was certified by the Virginia Department of Forensic Science as a Breath Test Operator, and by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services as a Crime Prevention Specialist, General Instructor, R.A.D.A.R. operator, V.A.S.C.A.R. operator, and to administer the NHTSA standardized field sobriety tests.

While attending law school, Mr. Wells was a summer law clerk to the Honorable Robert E. Payne, Judge, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia, and prosecuted criminal, DUI and traffic cases as an intern for the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney for Henrico County, Virginia.

W. Edward Riley, IV is a trial lawyer. Mr. Riley's involvement within the legal community is extensive. Currently, he serves on the Virginia Trial Lawyer Association's (VTLA) Board of Governors, is Co-Chairman of its publication committee, and is a Member of both their CLE and Amicus committees. Mr. Riley is Chairman of the Virginia Fair Trial Project, a Member of the Virginia State Bar's specially created Indigent Defense Task Force, and a Member of the Supreme Court of Virginia Chief Justice Leroy Hassell's Indigent Defense Training Initiative. He also serves on the Steering Committee for the Virginia Criminal Justice Commission and is the legislative liaison between the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (VACDL) and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Billy Ruhling, II, is an experienced litigator focusing on civil litigation matters. His experience in civil litigation has focused on complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy and business torts. Mr. Ruhling has represented clients in actions covering a broad spectrum, including insurance coverage, professional liability defense, antitrust claims, contract disputes, tort claims, breach of corporate duties, and fraud.

There, in addition to supervising seven appellate attorneys, he represented soldiers appealing convictions at courts-martial before the United States Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and the U.S. Army Court of Criminal Appeals. Mr. Ruhling currently serves in the United States Army Reserves as a Major in the Judge Advocate General's Corps.

Mr. Ruhling also served as a trial-level defense counsel as well as a Brigade Legal Advisor to the Aviation Brigade of the 3d Infantry Division responsible for providing advice in areas of national security law, international law, and administrative law in peace-time and during Operator Iraqi Freedom I, while simultaneously serving as a felony-level prosecutor.

Mr. Ruhling earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the United States Military Academy. He received his Juris Doctorate, with Honors, Order of the Coif, from the College of William & Mary School of Law. Mr. Ruhling went on to earn an L.L.M. in Military Law from the Army Judge Advocate School.
