Marcus L. Hunt is a partner with Duell | Hunt law firm. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and his undergraduate degree in History/Political Science from East Texas Baptist University. Marcus has been admitted to practice in the State of Alabama and before the United States District Courts for Alabama.

Marcus represents franchise clients across the United States and internationally. He has helped both start-up companies and entrepreneurs reach their goals through franchising as well as established franchise companies that have a global presence. Marcus’ franchise law practice involves counseling franchise clients through each step of the franchise creation and registration process. Marcus is a vital team member for many of the franchise companies that he serves. Together with Richard Duell, Marcus founded the Alabama Franchise Alliance, a statewide association for franchise companies and suppliers. He is a member of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Franchising.

Marcus also has an active real estate law practice. He assists clients in the closing of real estate transactions and residential and commercial loan closings including SBA loans. Marcus and Duell | Hunt represent numerous home owners associations throughout the Birmingham metro area.

Mr. Hunt also represents clients in the entertainment and arts industry. As part of his course of study, Marcus attended Southwestern University School of Law’s Entertainment Law Program. Upon entering private practice, Mr. Hunt founded Alabama Lawyers for the Arts, a 501(c)(3) organization that provides legal support for artists and arts organizations. He has advised clients and leads numerous workshops and seminars for artists and arts organizations on topics such as copyrights, trademarks, and artists contracts. Marcus was a faculty/panelist at the Art, Entertainment and Sports Law Institute sponsored by the Minnesota State Bar Association Art and Entertainment Law Section for their workshop entitled, “Fine Art Intellectual Property Issues.” Marcus is a member of the Entertainment Law Section of the American Bar Association.

Richard C. Duell III maintains an active presence in the state, national and international legal communities advocating client's rights through a number of organizational and committee memberships. Mr. Duell is well respected by his colleagues having received a rating of "AV" by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible rating from the universally recognized legal referral source.

Richard C. Duell III received his Doctor of Jurisprudence at Cumberland School of Law of Samford University and his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Auburn University. He has published numerous articles and speaks often on commercial and franchising law. Mr. Duell was on the panel at the 2004 and 2005 International Franchise Association (IFA) Expo in Washington, DC, speaking on Multi Unit and Multi-Concept Franchising, sponsored by Franchise Times.

Mr. Duell is a member of the Franchise Committee of the International Bar Association; the American Bar Association and its committees: Corporation, Banking and Business Law, Small Business; Forum Committee on Franchising; Franchising Section of Anti-Trust Law, he is a member of the Alabama Arbitrator Roster and is a charter member of the Birmingham, Alabama Bar Associationâs Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section. He is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the 11th and 5th United States Courts of Appeal and all United States District Courts of Alabama and Alabama state courts. Mr. Duell has been active locally in his local Bar Association serving as Chairman of the Fee Arbitration and Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee and has been a member of its Civil Court Procedure Committee, Budget Committee, Lawyer Advertising and Solicitation Committee, Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee and Special Assignments Committee.
