Steven M. Taber
OVERVIEW
About Steven M. Taber
Skilled in explaining litigation risks and strategy to business professionals. Practiced in assessing a company's exposure to litigation risks and analyzing litigation to resolve issues.
Environmental. I have experience in both regulatory and litigation aspects of environmental law. I have negotiated Title V permits for steel companies, reviewed environmental provisions of transactions, negotiated NPDES permits, and resolved air excursion issues with state regulatory agencies. I have designed decision tree analysis for the resolution of environmental issues. In addition, I have been successful in litigating all manner of environmental claims in the courts and in administrative tribunals.
Litigation. I have successfully prosecuted and defended many types of complex litigation. My success in the courtroom comes from my ability to negotiate and mediate practical settlements. Analyzing the case and sizing up the opponents is crucial to successful litigation. This allows me to know when to compromise and when to push the case to trial. In doing so, I draw on my experience as a litigator, as well as my MA in Political Science to devise settlement and negotiation scenarios as well as litigation plans.
