James has practiced in Mississippi since 1981, after gaining degrees at Millsaps College in Political Science and at the University of Mississippi. He works with the twenty five attorney firm of Page Kruger & Holland in Jackson where he defends commercial, personal injury, product liability and premises litigation. He has completed over a hundred jury trials and has many reported decisions in both State and Federal courts.

He carries an AV rating with Martindale-Hubbell. He is currently serving on the Mississippi Supreme Court's Civil Jury Instruction Committee as Vice Chair and has just completed work as the Vice Chair of the Business Court Committee, appointed by Mississippi's Secretary of State, Delbert Hoseman. He was chairman of the Mississippi Bar's Summer School Committee which presents continuing legal education for Mississippi's lawyers beginning on July 13, 2009. He was recently made a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation

He is in the middle of a three year term on the Board of Directors for the DRI - The Voice of the Defense Bar, as the Regional Director for the Southern Region made up of Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi. He serves on DRI's Strategic Planning Committee, is Vice Chairmen of the SLDO Relationship Committee and is the Board liaison for DRI's Appellate Advocacy Committee In the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association he has served in several capacities, including President. He has been chairman of and a speaker for several of its continuing programs.

This year he was selected to the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys [ADTA] and has been selected to the Best Lawyers in America for 2011 in Commercial and Products Liability Litigation.

He is a member of the Hinds County Bar, Mississippi Bar, Fifth Circuit Bar and Federal Bar Association. He is a member of the Counsel on Litigation Management and a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators. He was selected for inclusion in the Mid-South Super Lawyer listing for the four last years.
