: Current; Heidi’s practice has focused on securities litigation, white collar criminal defense, governmental investigations and other high stakes business litigation. Heidi has significant experience in defending against securities fraud claims by the government, shareholder class actions, RICO actions and other civil and criminal fraud claims, including claims involving alleged stock price manipulation, insider trading, market timing, improper revenue recognition and violations of the False Claims Act. Recent matters handled by Heidi include: Representation of a broker-dealer in an appeal to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in connection with alleged misstatements in a Wells submission to the Securities Exchange Commission. Dismissal of the indictment against her client was affirmed by the Sixth Circuit. Representation of a hedge fund trader in connection with an investigation by the SEC into allegations of market timing and late trading. The SEC determined that it would not bring formal charges against her client. Representation of a health care provider in connection with its settlement of Medicare fraud claims under the Massachusetts and federal False Claims Acts. Representation of an investment bank in an action to recover payment under a financial advisory services contract in connection with a merger between two public companies. Representation of a law firm sued for legal malpractice and breach of fiduciary duty in actions involving conflict of interest and ethics issues. Prior to joining the firm, Heidi gained trial experience as a Special Assistant District Attorney for Middlesex County. In 2003, she also tried a pro bono asylum case for a Cameroonian client, resulting in grant of asylum for her client.
