Family is everything. That's why choosing the right family law attorney to resolve your family disputes will be one of the most important decisions you will ever have to make. Having experienced a family matter litigation myself, I truly understand how stressful and nerve-racking the court process can be and how important it is to have the right attorney by your side. You NEED an attorney you can get in contact with whenever you have questions. I practice exclusively in family law with a focus on contested and complex cases including litigation of child custody, modifications, contempt of court, and high asset divorce cases. I have a domineering presence in the courtroom and have won cases against the toughest odds. I am bold, aggressive, articulate, sharp, and have the experience and skills necessary to win for my clients.

I earned my Bachelor's Degree from Columbia University and my J.D. from Emory School of Law. I am actively involved in the Atlanta legal community and serve on the Board of Directors for the Family Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association. I frequently lecture and speak at continuing legal education seminars and devote time as an official Guardian Ad Litem. I am a certified mediator, also providing training to professionals who want to learn Alternative Dispute Resolution, and am involved with several other great organizations such as the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation and the Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association.

I understand how challenging and emotionally draining family law litigation can be, which is why I strive to make the process smooth and easy for my clients. Emily prides herself on developing creative settlement options to craft arrangements that honor their new family dynamic. When settlement is not possible, her prowess in the Courtroom already far exceeds her years of practice as she uses her vast legal knowledge and considerable trial skills to obtain positive results for her clients. Emily is a certified mediator and mediates both general civil cases and family law cases. Having mediated numerous cases, she understands the dynamics and strategies involved in negotiation and alternative dispute resolution.

Associate Attorney: Hunter, Weinstein & Somerstein, L.L.C.; 2012 - 2016; I handle all matters in Family Law including contested divorce, uncontested divorce, legal separation, prenuptial/postnuptial agreements, alimony, child custody, parenting plans, and child support and am familiar with issues in high asset divorce cases and divorce cases involving businesses. I also represent clients in adoptions, legitimation, and paternity cases. Family Law matters also extend to post-divorce and I also assist clients with post-divorce issues such as contempt actions and modification actions.
