About Hidalgo County Bar Association Pro Bono Project

About this Organization:
The mission of the Hidalgo County Pro Bono Project is to provide impoverished residents of Hidalgo and Starr Counties with access to justice by matching those in need of legal assistance with volunteer attorneys who have agreed to represent them without charge. Jointly founded in 1986 by the Hidalgo County Bar Association and Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, the Pro Bono Project's volunteer attorneys have assisted hundreds of low-income families with legal problems over the last fifteen years. As part of the Project's mentoring program, participating volunteer attorneys will receive a variety of free training seminars and ongoing support to ensure that the volunteer has a successful and rewarding experience.
